Publisher's summary

Siouca is a member of the advanced Wanderer civilization. What does Siouca want?

The quest to unlock the secrets of interstellar travel leads a Roranian crew on an epic journey across space. Saved by a dying machine-lect, stranded in a failing ship, faced with an ultimate choice. Were they too eager in their attempts to reach the stars?

The fractious Primals are the ancient, all-powerful rulers of the Creatites. Their origins are shrouded in mystery although Storytellers recite their legends. Tallic has recently been granted special abilities by the Barrier Primal that most other Creatites could only dream of, although he has an unexpected encounter with an intruder that changes everything.

What secrets have the Primals kept hidden since time began?

Nurilm resides within a decaying temple. One day, she chances upon forbidden knowledge about an enigmatic entity called the "Collector" and an unthinkable battle waged long ago in which the Primals were united.

What does it all mean? And how is it all connected?

One thing is for certain. Siouca is coming.

A stand-alone novel from the Wanderer universe.

Cerebral sci-fi with an emphasis on the "sci". If you enjoy hard sci-fi, complex space opera, and authors such as Iain M. Banks, Alastair Reynolds, and Dan Simmons, then this is for you.

Bee part of this intergalactic journey

It took me a as little bit to get my bearings on this story as so many details were being shared. Once I did, it was an enjoyable exploration of space faring Apian species crossing paths with ancient AI.

Immersive Cerebral SciFi - highly recommended

I loved this book, Siouca Remembers. This is another wonderful stand alone story set in the Wanderer Universe of the immensely long lived, nigh immortal, machinelects and varied species of biological sentients. This is a book for those who enjoy the works of Ian M Banks. A complex and well thought out universe with interesting and diverse peoples. I was totally emotionally invested in the protagonists, who were genuine characters with depth and personality. The most irritating and negative female that i've recently encountered in fiction finally got the slap that I had been wishing for her! The three apparently disparate story threads are skilfully woven together. The final reveal is bittersweet. Even if no one else does, Siouca remembers. This is a book that stays with you after the last words are spoken.

The Voice of Nick really brings the peoples to life. His vocal interpretation of both Siouca and the Collector deserve a special mention. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. This is Science Fiction, clean and unadulterated.

James Murdo weaves a wonderful story yet again.

Complex plot development but well worth it once you wrap your brain around all 3 story lines, especially as they come together. Well written, James Murdo brought this together quite nicely. Great character development, believable characters, and the story line just keeps on moving. Highly recommended! Audio Version: Nick does a great job narrating Siouca Remembers!

Secrets among the stars

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Siouca Remembers is another brilliant, labyrinthine journey set in James Murdo's Wanderer Universe that is narrated by The Voice of Nick, whom once again gives an immersive, dynamic performance as he brings to life a saved and protected crew, a unique and mysterious culture of ruling Primals over Creatites, where one called Tallic is gifted with skills to challenge the structure of his society and its dark secrets. A wondrous adventurous tale, highly recommended.

did not finish

Returning for a refund after three hours of listening to a story that did not spark my interest.

The Voice of Nick didn't wow me either. He has a way of using an informal manner of speaking, which might be appropriate for a character voice, but is also used for narrative purposes. I found that distracting.
