Publisher's Summary

Sinner’s Creed is the uncensored memoir of Scott Stapp, Grammy Award-winning leader of the multiplatinum rock band CREED. Raised by an abusive stepfather, Scott was always aware of God's presence in his life, but it wasn't until years later, amid a life punctuated by sex, drugs, and rock ’n roll that Scott began to feel a need for God in his life.

During CREED’s decade of dominance and in the years following the band's breakup, Scott struggled with drugs and alcohol, which led not only to a divorce, but also to a much-publicized suicide attempt in 2006. Now clean, sober, and in the midst of a highly successful solo career, Scott has finally come full circle-a turnaround he credits to his renewed relationship with Jesus Christ.

In Sinner's Creed, Scott shares his story for the first time, from his fundamentalist upbringing, the rise and fall of CREED, and his ongoing battle with addiction, to his recommitment to Christ and the launch of his solo career. The result is a gripping memoir that is proof positive that God is always present in our lives, despite the colossal mess we sometimes make of them.

Sinners Creed by Scott Stapp gripped my soul!

I recommend this book to anyone who admires Scott, either as a person, singer or as a writer. He is so very talented, yet humble and honest. There are so many similarities between us and amongst the timeline of our lives. I feel so connected to him and this book brought me even closer. His words comfort me when I am down. Bipolar disorder is a lifelong struggle and SS has shown me the way. I am forever grateful. Glory be to God! Rock on! Heartsonfire~

Bold and transparent. An easy read.

The book is believable from the first word. I'm glad to finally know what really went on with Creed. I cheered and I cried for a little boy who should have had better. But, I am so grateful that poets heart is finding its way.

AWESOME !!!!

If you could sum up Sinner's Creed in three words, what would they be?

Gripping, heartbreaking, victory

Who was your favorite character and why?

Scott, I really can relate to his journey to find God, through Jesus Christ. Steve Stapp (Scott's father) gives Christians a really bad name, he really messed with Scott's head. I wanted to ring his neck.

Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?

Scott ( as a reader and performer he is exceptional !! ) It was the best performance I personally have heard I have listened to approximately 25 books so far

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes It made me laugh and cry at times. I felt like i was there with Scott going through it with him. the struggle that he has gone through with his walk with Christ is my struggle as well.

Any additional comments?

My wife is listening to it now. Her Father was just like Scott's dad (Steve). This book has already helped with being willing to forgive her dad and his memory. (died of Lou Gerigs decease in 2000) THANK YOU SCOTT for Sharing your painful memories with us I Cant tell you how much they have meant.

Amazing story, I loved it

I enjoyed this book immensely, and I’ve listened to it twice so far. Scott Stapp’s testimony is incredible, and I also enjoyed learning the back stories behind many of Creed’s songs and lyrics. I would recommend this book to Creed/Stapp fans, those interested in addiction and recovery, and anyone who enjoys Christian testimonies that glorify God.

Would have been better if narrated by author.

Couldn't get into it, narrator sounds like Peter from Family Guy. Alright surface story too.
