Publisher's summary

Six sexy roommates, all with a sinful secret.

I'm Ria, 23 years old and living the glamorous life of my dreams, with the perfect fiancé, nice car, gorgeous house, and a job I love. Excuse the minor detail of the job I love being taking my clothes off.

I had everything I wanted, when, suddenly, shit hit the fan, and the fantasy life I had built went up in flames.

Now, I find myself living in a tiny town, in a not-so-tiny house, with six insanely hot - and just straight-up insane - roommates. With all kinds of crazy things going on in this little town, Eliam, Gatlin, Kellan, Gray, Beck, and Rafe seem to think that I am just the girl to help them set everything straight.

The Severin brothers are getting me all involved and in danger, and I'm terrified...not of the danger, but these guys. There's something different about the six of them...something I swear I'm going to figure out.

2.5, and THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

Again, SPOILER NOTICE

Not great. I like what the author was trying to do here. Ria is determined to be her own person. She shows backbone when she finds her boyfriend cheating. She has a meaningful friendship with another woman (i.e. not all other women are the enemy). She's not afraid or ashamed of her own sexuality and doesn't agonize over it.

However, I think Saren failed in a lot of the execution. The inner-self was so overused that Ria simply felt mentally unhinged. It became a little more bearable when it was hinted toward the end that she might actually have a split personality. But as it was, I cringed (often literally) whenever Ria started describing her inner-self, complete with what she was wearing, how she was walking, what expression she had on her face, the tone of her voice, etc. I wanted Inner-Self to die and go away.

Secondly, the six heroes. This was majorly problematic for me for two reasons. The first being that I couldn't keep them all straight and tell them apart. Saren gave them accents and habits, but six men filling the same role is just too many. Secondly, this book is referred to as a reverse harem. Ria only actually has sex with two of them (I think, definitely not more). But it felt super icky to me because she seemed a lot more like a little sister that they all got to fondle and fuck. (Or maybe she got to fuck her big brothers, as she was perfectly willing to initiate the act, which I did appreciate.) What's more, Ria is a serious case of fawned over by all the males for being special, while not really doing anything particularly special beyond existing.

Lastly (and this is a big one for me), the mystery/villian. It's secondary to the plot, not even being addressed until the halfway mark. Then, one red herring villain is dispatched off-page and super anticlimactically. Cue Ria's too-stupid-to-live tantrum because the men won't listen to her about another villain still being at large (and they act surprised when this turns out to be true). But come one, the man stabbed her with a magical athame and by all description looked like a freakin' zombie. This did not fly as something centuries-old, experienced people would miss. I 100% think the author forgot she'd included the stabbing in her plot. (I'm only half joking here.)

All in all, readable, but not a real winner for me. The narrator did a great job though.

NOTE: I recieved an audible code for this book. I chose to listen and review it.

Good plot, amazing narration!

I decided to listen to this book on audible and really enjoyed it. Narrator Melissa Schwairy is my favorite narrator when it comes to books with a witty main character. She really brings the characters to life.

This was an action packed and fun book and I can't wait to continue the series! (Preferably on Audible)

Deadly Omen

Appreciated the well thought out characters. The depth given to the guys emotions was welcome. Hope the next book gets more heat but it would be unrealistic to expect full on gang bang this early in a series.

seriously couldn't make it twenty minutes through.

The sense of humor is just so lame, I quit the book entirely. The whole feel was if the book was written by a junior high schooler. I will give books I'm not entirely impressed with a solid try, but this one just made me cringe too much to continue.

Really enjoyed

Ria is due to be married in a few days but she arrives home early to find him in bed with her BFF. She packs her case and gets in her car and drives until she is drawn to a small village. There she goes to the coffee shop and meets Drea and Mrs Clove who offers her a room in a huge house and that’s when her fun starts she finds out 6 hot as hell guys also live there. Really loved this book but I’m sad book 2 isn’t available on audio.

Very good!

I found this book very difficult to put down and I ended up listening to it in one go.
There were some funny scenes and sassy banter between the characters. The story was very entertaining and I'm going to look for the next one in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading audio copy.

Absolutely Brilliant!!!

I really enjoyed this book. The author describes the plot and characters in amazing detail that I cannot wait for the next one. The narrator is very skilled and brings the characters to life. It has a very similar concept to my other favourite books.... Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter. I cannot wait to listen to the next book in this series, if it is half as good as the first we will all be in for such a treat.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I have provided this voluntary review.

Loved it!!

I loved this book, I laughed so much while listening. Jenica Saren has done an incredible job with character development, particularly with the main character, Ria. She is witty, charming, easy-going with a charismatic personality. Despite her dark past, Ria has risen above it all, transforming her self into a bold and independent woman. As for the six, super hot Sinfull alpha-male roommates, the Severin brothers, they are powerful, protective, and charming.

The storyline is entertaining, fascinating and quite engaging. The paranormal elements are different and introduced gradually. Ordinarily, I'm not a big fan of the reverse harem romances; however, this one was well written and fun. Ria's connection with Severin brothers is fantastic and, the chemistry is smouldering. That being said it's not insta-love, but a continuous progression of the relationship in the upcoming books in the series.

The narration by Melissa Schwairy is outstanding, she really channelled Ria's personality. I very much enjoyed her performance.

Overall this was brilliantly written paranormal, reverse harem romance, and I highly recommend it. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
