I was frustrated!

Maybe it was the author's goal to make readers frustrated, but it just made me tired. I'm not saying the Viscount didn't have his bossy and know-it-all personality, but the woman he loved, Frances, was just so stubborn and frustrating!!! All her problems were because she was too secretive! If she'd just been honest (with everyone) right from the start, she'd never have had her problems! But of course, the author would not have had a story then. I was frustrated by the end of the story. And Frances ended up doing what she could have about a quarter of the was into the book!

Just “meh” for me..💔

I really wanted to like this story, and I gave it the benefit of the doubt up until about three fourths of the way through and it was still the same darn thing happening. Lucien discovering that he has feelings, but not wanting them, but giving into them. And Francis not feeling like she was worthy of them, or that he was actually capable of having them. It was, like other reviewer’s have stated, rather a drawn out story. Roslyn Landor did a great job narrating though. The book wasn’t awful, I wont return it, but I’m not sure if it was worth a whole credit. Maybe if it was in the two for one sale. If the next book in the series does end up on sale I would probably read it that way, but I’m not in a rush to pay another whole credit for the next book in the series.

Lovely story with annoying female lead

I love Mary Balogh her stories. This is a new series for me to start. I loved it. The female lead was very annoying and even though I understood her I still hated the problems she created for herself by being dishonest with the man she loved.

WONDERFUL!

I adore this story! The narrator was perfect and made listening even more wonderful. I laughed out loud and teared up. Truly a delight!

Excellent Story

This was a great story. I really enjoyed it. I was amused all the way through.

Love the historic theme about London

This could have been a great love story and a strong women-theme EVEN with a little less explicitness of the intimate scenes. It was sad for the women in the day. The strong love between the two main characters was endearing.

Great Book

This is the best romance novel I've ever heard. Not too much explicit sex, and reasonable story line. I LOVED it.
