Pretty good job of giving each character its own voice.

Short, but informative background on the sisters. It contains all of the usual, overconfident, wizards who love to inform their victims of their shortcomings while the victim prepares a nasty little death for them.

The narrators voice…

The book is a collection of loosely connected stories and is not Ed Greenwood‘s finest work but I still enjoyed it.

The narrator has a voice that I love to listen to but her impression of the male characters voice was horrible. Every male had the same voice and had to check IMDB to see if she also voiced Gargamel.

Bad narrator

All female characters are voiced the same. All male characters are voiced the same. And there are so many different characters it is quite hard to keep them all apart.
The end is very sudden and leaves you with a feeling of something missing. The idea of the book is cool, and most of the battles are cool.

Great collection of tales

A lovely collection is stories connecting an connecting the seven daughters of the goddess of magic. A quick moving romp of fast paced action. Full of Realms lore from the creator of the Forgotten Realms

Fun but sightly disjointed

As much as I adore Ed, I do find the story in this book to be sightly disjointed - probably because it switches between seven different protagonists. The reader, Abby Craden, did an excellent job with the unique turns of phrase that Ed employs, as well as the unusual names so frequently found in a Forgotten Realms novel. Would be willing to listen to her again.

Listen for The Simbul

This book doesn't do much to separate the personalities of the sisters, except for a few very distinct individuals. The mystery within the story is intriguing, but is resolution leaves a lot to be desired, the internal logic and motivations of the villains quite vague and headscratching. Things are also not helped by the fact that the narrator does little to try and keep the sisters' voices unique (with a few exceptions), and that all other characters are voiced passably at best. However, this is all worth it for the wondrous experience of the penultimate chapter. Simply its first line is enough to show how much fun it is: " The Simbul; Wizard Hunting Season" This chapter is nearly two hours of pure badassery, gloriously enhanced by a great performance of T he Simbul herself by the narrator. Experiencing this chapter of pure joy is reason enough in itself to listen to this book.

Abby Craden did a very bad job in her reading the voices she used are not good at all I did not keep my interest for long
