Improvement from the last story and performance

I gave this author a second read following the disaster that was “Love Against her Will”. This was a definite improvement but the bar was low to start. As one reader commented, this is not a mail order bride story but the genre was otherwise in the historical western romance category. The plot was fairly typical with little to distinguish it from other offerings in the genre. The narrator was also an improvement but still a bit over the top in terms of dialogue delivery with one exception. Her Scottish accent was spot on. In fact, her performance would be better if she adopted the same level of speaking normalcy in performing the rest of the characters. All in all, happy this was included in the romance lovers package so that I could explore new authors and narrators without surrendering one of my precious 2 credits per month!
