Moments.

Our lives are a collection of moments. Some utterly painful and full of yesterday's hurts. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow's promises.

I've had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones - the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones - all included him.

I was 10 years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories.

This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn't love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises.

Of moments.

I COULD NOT FINISH BUT ITS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I can tell from the first half of the book that it is excellent but I just can not handle sad books. The book is narrated superbly and the story is great. I will go back and finish but there is enough sadness in the world I'll keep my books hot dirty and sexy. If you like a tear jerker you will love it

A TRAGIC ROAD LEADS TO A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY

Wow.. I wasn't expecting quite such a moving, heartbreaking, beautiful, profound, powerful and breathtaking story as this as an innocent 10 year old Maggie May humorously plans her wedding to her brother's unwilling 11 year old best friend Brooks with hilarious letters, quick-witted banter and amusing inner thoughts. But before the naive "I do's" tragedy strikes which will sentance Maggie May to 18 years of terror provoked silence, 18 years of loneliness tethered to her house by a child's fear of one very real demon, 18 years of a household under immense strain that'll eventually split loving parents up.. and 18 frustrating years where both joy and heartache will be felt over loving and losing Brooks.

And Brooks grew up being a good friend to Maggie, her anchor, a shoulder for her to cry on and her rock. Over the years that friendship turned into an unconditional beautiful love - but Brooks destiny was to become a successful Rock Musician.. and Fate wasn't finished with throwing obstacles in this couples way - and then it would be Brooks that would be drowning and need saving.

This book was a deep and emotionally draining listen and I was riveted to every word wondering what the next chapter would reveal. Brittainy C. Cherry has written an epic tale of a little girl's fear and anxiety after witnessing something horrific and her ongoing debilitating psychological daily battle will touch many lives and have far reaching consequences. It's not an easy feel good listen.. but it is totally addictive, unpredictable and an unforgettable one where pain will eventually be replaced by pleasure and tears will eventually be replaced by a wonderful friendship, a passionate love.. and a fairy book ending. All the secondary characters had a part to play in this love story and all of Brittainy's characters were awesome. Great dual POV narration.

Worth A Credit? Absolutely it's amazing. And all I can finally add is experience its awesomeness for yourselves, be touched by a beautiful love story that'll tear you apart and then stitch you together again, immerse yourselves as tender feelings turn into romantic declarations and fall in love with these loveable characters.. they're waiting.

5++++ The Silent Waters Stars

There are books that will sit with you for days, weeks, sometimes months or even years after you read them.
This is going to be that book for me. Maggie’s story is not only heart breaking but hopeful.

The Silent Waters is probably going to be my top read of 2017 nothing has come close to it this year. My heart is so full of wonder and hope.

Brooks was a little boy who fell in love with a girl, and didn't even know it till his heart was already hers. He was what every parent wants their children to be caring and compassionate. He doesn't see things as black and white but he was the grey areas.

I don’t think this story would be the same without someone like Brooks.

Maggie, what can I say about her, she really has a tough time in this book but there is that underlying feeling of hope and sorrow. It’s the loss of innocents, the loss of hope, the loss of one’s self. But it’s not just that you see the glimmer of hope and determination.
She doesn’t take things lying down even if sometimes that might be what she wanted but she fights even if no one hears her. But someone does. Brooks.

And he come becomes her voice when she doesn't have one.
Also when he needs a voice because he loses his, she becomes his voice.

I just can’t say enough things about this book but READ it. It’s outstanding.

And the narrators I am in utter awe of the emotions they portrayed through their voices. Sometimes I felt like I was there. I can’t even tell you how many times I had shivers or teared up.
Fantastic Performance.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Stunning!

If I could give this audiobook more than 5 stars I would! This story is of a girl who was severely traumatized by witnessing a murder when she was ten, causing her to not speak for almost 20 years. The boy she has loved since she was five years old becomes her anchor and supports her throughout these years, even though she never leaves the house or talks. The beauty of this story had me tearful at times and the way the story ended is so perfect. The narration was excellent and this is now one of my favorite books of all time. Can't say enough good things about it. Love conquers even the most tragic things that can happen.

WORST BOOK EVER

I'm not even 1/2 way through this book and I can't stand it. I'm trying to finish but I just can't. I have so many issues with this book. The main issue I have is WHY THE HELL DOESN'T Maggie and her family use sign language? Who goes 20 years without talking only using a pen and paper and knocking??? Totally unrealistic.
Maggie, I get that she is traumatized but come the hell on, she sits back and just watches her world fall apart around her. She is a victim and as far as I have read is enabled by her family and friends to remain a victim.
It is so painful to continue with this book.
I have read other books by this same author that I absolutely LOVED, but this one is probably the worst book I have ever read! Very disappointing!

Another great book from this author. While this one isn't my favorite, I still found it really touching and emotional and while the drama was a little drawn out for me, I loved the characters. Brooks was such a true to himself kind of guy, he didn't do things to please others, He just did what he wanted no matter what would have been easier for him. Maggie is a tragic character for me, an event from her childhood changed her life for way too long. The ending was great.

Great narration! Both Joe Arden & Erin Mallon are favorites of mine!

Beautiful heartfelt story

This audio had me laughing and then crying throughout this story. Ever read a book that you know you will never forget that opens your eyes and you truly will look at people a different way? This is that book. Maggie a typical little girl having a crush on the neighbor boy until one day Maggie sees something that changes her life forever. Brooks won't give up on Maggie through everything he sticks by his promise until one day something horrible happens to him. With determination Maggie and Brooks need the strength to discover the world . "The world keeps spinning because your heartbeat exist" "No matter what, find me, because I'm going to be the one to show it to you. I'm going to help you cross off your to-do list." Beautiful, heart beating story that will always make you remember you have a voice. 5/5 stars

A great story with ALL THE FEELS!!!

I stayed up all night listening to this masterpiece of a book. It's nearing the end of 2016, and Ms. Cherry's wonderful new book has made it onto my short list of favourites for the year. What an exquisite story of two childhood friends who fall in love from the start but must surmount unbelievable challenges to find happiness.

There are so many sweet moments in this book. The very start when Brooks and Maggie first meet is just adorable. I found myself chuckling out loud listening to their early letters back and forth - Maggie planning their wedding in the forest and Brooks vehemently insisting she is crazy and that he couldn't marry a girl he hated.

Not far into the book, Maggie experiences a trauma which leaves her housebound and mute. The trials her family goes through in the aftermath of the trauma and Brooks' commitment to being there for this broken girl is so poignant and believable. I loved the secondary characters in this book - especially the mean old bird of a neighbour who never gave up on the damaged girl next door.

You will spend the entire book wishing Maggie could find her voice and tell people what happened to her. You'll hope for the potential catalyst that will finally propel her into the world outside her home.

When I say this book has all the feels, I truly mean it. I laughed and cried. I felt the stabbing pain of jealous betrayal and then the amazing high of loving declaration. There were moments of fear, and finally times to rejoice. I've read all of Brittainy C. Cherry's books, and this one is my favourite by far. Ms. Cherry is an author whose work I will automatically buy every time.

The narration provided by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden is excellent. A five star performance without question. They make a great team and each easily handles the task of convincingly voicing the opposite sex. It would have been perfection had it been more of a duo with Erin handling only the female dialog and Joe reading the male dialog. However, I won't deduct a star from the narration for that reason as few books are recorded in this manner.

My only small gripe with this book came down to sex between the hero and heroine. I love romance books that are heavy on the plot and lightly sprinkled with a few erotic encounters. Silent Waters has plot for days...I just wish the physical relationship was a little more detailed and a bit more steamy. Their first encounter was only beginning and then it was abruptly cut off with a chapter and POV change. It kind of left me feeling cheated - I patiently listened through that angst and sexual tension and when it came time to deliver, I was denied!

Don't even wonder if this story is worth your time and credit. Just buy it, listen, and enjoy!

Have the tissue ready.

This book took my breath away. I couldn't control the tears that came several times during the story. Maggie and Brooks. The forever kind of love. Loved the characters. This book really touched me.
Narration is really good. Mallon does such an amazing job.
