Publisher's Summary

Eric knows what he needs...he just doesn't think anyone else will want it, too.

He's finally reached his breaking point. There's only so many times he can put himself out there and get shot down. After a disastrous first date at a BDSM club, Eric is ready to walk away and push his desires to the furthest reaches of his mind - but then up walks Marcus. But just because the sexy older man is looking for a submissive doesn't mean he's looking to be someone's daddy.

Marcus knows what he wants, and he's spent months getting everything perfect for his boy...now he just needs to find him.

When Marcus sees Eric at Bound & Controlled, he's immediately drawn to the sweet submissive who's desperately trying to hide his devastation. Marcus steps in when he sees the sub's evening going wrong, but he's not sure what the shy submissive is looking for. Just because he wants the boy to need a daddy doesn't mean he's going to get what he hopes for.

As they discover their mutual desires, Marcus is sure that Eric has the strength to go after what he yearns for; he just needs his daddy's help and love to see it.

Another amazing book

Once again an amazing book loved every aspect. Fell in love with Eric and Marcus. Listening to Kenneth Obi's narration brought the story to life (love his breathy voice when he uses it in all the right spots). Can's wait to see where M.A. takes us in the second one.

Sweet adventure into self acceptance

Silent Strength is a sweet adventure into self acceptance. The narrator does well with the shy innocence of Eric and the gentle strength of Marcus. The exploration of Eric coming to accept his own wishes for a Daddy and Marcus’ ability to be just that and his guidance to help Eric voice his wants was a joy to listen to. Even those not a fan of age play will enjoy the beginnings of a story of self acceptance and growth.

It's good to know your hard limits

Brutally honest review: I had to use my safe word and tap out on this one part way through. Here's the thing, I am completely aware that MA Innes books are taboo, boundary-pushing kink stories. I was curious enough (and a big fan of the Shaw Montgomery books) to give this one a try. Unfortunately I discovered that age play may just be a bit too much for me, and particularly when listening to it, because the story just feels so much more immediate and visceral when it's being narrated. I think it was a very compassionate story, told with care and respect. Kenneth Obi did a great narration. In spite of the fact that I couldn't finish it, I'm still happy to give it a good rating. Sometimes it's just good to test your own personal boundaries and perfectly okay to admit when something just isn't for you. If taboo romance and age play are your thing, definitely check this out.

a sweet age play romance

I love Eric and Marcus so much. It was sweet watching Marcus help Eric grow more confident. The Narrator did a great job giving voices to the characters.

Story of Exploration

I liked the way the characters explored their experience with each other without coercion or capitulation. Everything was done as trust built.

Age play

Right from the first words this story has grabbed me. I felt how uncomfortable Eric could was and how concerned Marco was. This is a beautifully written book and Kenneth has done a brilliant job bringing not just Marcus and Eric to life but their friends as well.

Super sweet MM Age Play Romance

MA Innes creates such beautiful and sweet stories that help those “not in the know” understand the age play life. This story had great character development and connection throughout the book. I’d even love to see a follow up of these two the future! Kenneth Obi did a fantastic job with the narration, as usual.

Beautiful Beginning

Marcus has been waiting years for his perfect boy. Eric has been hoping for his perfect Daddy for nearly as long. When Eric finally finds the courage to take those tentative first steps, his Daddy is waiting for him at Bound and Controlled. But living with the fear of discovery his whole life, Eric's steps are slow indeed, Daddy Marcus has the patience to encourage - and push - the quietly strong boy he's drawn to nearly upon sight. This is the beginning of their journey.

And while no narrator ever reads to me the way I read in my own head, Kenneth Obi exceeded my expectations in this telling. He uses distinct voices that make it easy to distinguish between characters and narrative. I never "got lost" when listening. Marcus' voice, while sounding more mature, is both compassionate and commanding. Eric's voice is very obviously younger, but Kenneth never makes him sound like a child. The tone and pacing are consistent and added an extra level of enjoyment to this book. I can't wait to hear the rest of Marcus and Eric's journey!

as great as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Kenneth Obi is one of the top 3 narrators (so far) for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

very intriguing

I was super curious about this book and eager to jump in. It had me connected enough to finish it in almost one sitting. I found the story line and the content super intriguing and unique. It handled the introduction of a new type of relationship really well and I felt connect to both of the characters and their lifestyle.

Kenneth's voice was perfectly cast for this series and he fit the characters spot on. I feel like he really nailed them and made the book even better.

Excellent listen

I am not one to listen to books, in fact this was my first. Wow! I wish I’d done so sooner, I have already ready all of M.A. Innes work, however I adored reading this novel and was curious as to how it would transition over to audible.
I wasn’t disappointed, the narrator was wonderful allowing me to just sink into the story I love, while just getting on with my jobs. The tale of Eric and his “Daddy” is a touching one. Allowing you to follow Eric into explorations of his desires/kinks and needs whilst getting a good story and excellent character development with supporting characters. (And some naughty times😉). An incredibly enjoyable listen, and I look forward to trying some more!

Brilliant story and excellent narration

I really enjoyed this book as m.a.innes has really thought through this story, which is evident by the fact that rather rushing the story she has chosen to tell it over two books. This gives us readers the chance to really see the development of the relationship between Eric and his daddy Marcus.

Kenneth obi has chosen the perfect voices for both characters, and allowed the listener to lean back and listen to a great story. I have listened to this a number of times awaiting the next book in this series.

A wonderful story of accepting yourself

A great book from M.A. Innes.
This is my first book that delves so fully into the Daddy/Boy relationship.
I definitely enjoyed it and it gave me different aspects to a world that I'm unfamiliar with.
Eric is a silently strong character who has to learn to love and accept what he wants and that someone else will love him just the way he is.
Marcus is someone who desperately wants to find his boy and by some miracle, comes across him at the club he frequents. However, getting Eric to accept them and their wants may be the hardest thing he's worked for.
The characters are well written. The world that they belong to and the friends that are a part of it provide support and companionship in times where it's extremely important.
I love the affection that they show for each other, how quickly it comes about as it seems important for Eric to know that his needs are ok, great even, when it comes to Marcus and their inner circle of friends.
It's only 4 stars for me as I wasn't too keen once we got into the more in depth character aspects once they settled into their Daddy and Boy roles but that's just my own feelings on that.
Kenneth Obi does a wonderful job of narrating this book. I enjoyed his personalisation for each MC, both for their inner monologue and their speech. He conveys feelings very well and drew me into the story of the two characters.
I'd definitely recommend to those who love a bit of Daddy kink, fans of M.A. Innes and fans of Kenneth as it's brilliant work from both of them.
I received a copy of this book and am happily giving a review

Another amazing audible

I really enjoyed listening to this age play between Marcus (daddie) and Eric. Great watching them grow into their roles. Eric getting more confidence in his role. I have a weakness for this author books. Listening to them brings a lot more depth to the story. If I could give more then 5***** I would.

A real eye opener for this alternative lifestyle

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love how the author brings to life so,so well, the feelings of each character. By the end of the book l was totally in love with sweet , shy Eric as a "little" .As for Marcus, what a caring and patient and thoughtful "Daddy" he made. Together they worked so hard to support and complement each others needs , while making me squirm and smile throughout.

As with this authors other fetish books, by the end of the story l feel l have complete understanding and sympathy with all the characters.
Loved it.

What other book might you compare Silent Strength to, and why?

I felt the same strength of love and adoration with this authors Flawed Perfection book too.

Have you listened to any of Kenneth Obi’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is my first time listening to Kenneth Obi, and l thought his take on both the characters voices was really enjoyable.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This story made me laugh out loud several times . The reluctance of Eric to actually bring his fantasies out of his head and in to life was so cute and funny. On the other hand his homophobic family and bad high school memories were very heart breaking to read.

Needing to find a Daddy!

They met at a BDSM Club. Marcus noticed him looking around the room trying to take everything in. Then a Dom came in and sat down beside him. Marcus frowned not liking the looks the Dom was giving the boy. Then the Dom walked away. Marcus went immediately to the boy and placed his arms over his shoulders. The boy Eric relaxed and looked relieved. The relationship slowly developed into a Daddy/Dom and Boy/Sub over time.
