Publisher's summary

Two years ago, Bailey Adams broke off her engagement to Danny Maxwell and fled Logan Point for the mission field in Chihuahua, Mexico. Now she's about to return home to the States, but there's just one problem. After Bailey meets with the uncle of one of the mission children in the city, she barely escapes a sudden danger.

Now she's on the run - she just doesn't know from whom. To make matters worse, people who help her along the way find themselves in danger too - including Danny. Who is after her? Will they ever let up? And in the midst of the chaos, can Bailey keep herself from falling in love with her rescuer all over again?

With lean, fast-paced prose, Patricia Bradley pens a superb story of suspense and second chances.

Another GREAT mystery!

God sees the heart of man. He brings things done in secret to light!
I didn't want this book to end. I hope the family story continues.

Mysteries are good, Female main character stinks

I just finished listening to the last book in this Logan Point series. The mysteries were good, and I don't have any complaint in how the story is woven. However, that stated, one thing I can't stand is when the main character, is of a personality that I can't stand in real life, or in a novel. Each of these books in this Logan Point series, the author has painted the most obnoxious female characters in each of the books, as the focus. It's like the author thinks being stubborn, stupid at the same time. is an admirable characteristic along with being control freaks. I couldn't stand Taylor in the first book and almost quit the series at that point, but figured I'd give it another try with the second book just because it was a decent mystery. In book number 2, Leigh was even worse in addition to describing her character as the most self centered, rotten mother ever described, as well as being dishonest. Out of all 4 books, Leigh take the winner of the most rotten. In this 4th book, the mystery is solid, however, it's just another one with a rotten main character of Bailey. Stupid and stubborn just about sums up her character. Other than the personalities, this author thinks are admirable characteristics for women, (I'd feel the same if it were a male main character), the mysteries are good.

Silence in the Dark

Loved this book as much as the three before. Patricia Bradley holds you interest in her books. Love the way she brings the Lord in her writings and that there is no bad language.

not sure what accent narrator was going for--but it definitely was not spanish

story itself very implausible. very poor character development. people do not suddenly decide to run away on a whim to be a missionary to escape their problems--it takes a long time of dedication, training and support raising...
also the narrator has an annoying habit of not pronouncing the T in the middle of words -- so Martin is "mar en" or brighten is "bri en" -- you get the idea.

Enjoyable and Long!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It's worth the time and money. You do not need to have listened to the other 3 books in order for this book to make sense. Thank you!

Quite An Unbelievable Plot

I have read several of this authors books and liked them but this one was pretty painful to slog through.
The plot was not believable. The character development was lacking.
Absolutely DID NOT like the narrator. Her southern drawl was cloying and her little girl voice was annoying.
Will not be listening to another book narrated by her. Dissapointed!

on par with the rest of the series

I generally like this series from Patricia Bradley however as with the others there are parts of this story that are implausible and hard to swallow. they feel contrived, put there just to make the story work the way the author wants but not necessarily in a realistic believable scenario.

Twists and turns

This book kept me guessing who the moles were and who sided with the good guys were. The book had many twists and turns, and even up to the end, surprises were abundant!
I liked how God was prominent in this story. Most of all, I liked how the missionary, Bailey knew in her heart that God never left her, but her mind had doubts. I liked how the listener was given insight into the character’s struggles.
The narration was excellent. I highly recommend this book, especially for those who find themselves in the valley of doubt.

awesome

This series was great from start to finish. Easy to listen to and the plot was easy to follow, yet kept me wanting more. My walks went so fast as I was listening. Looking forward to more books by this author.
