Gods walk the Realms!

Rising up from the black depths of the Underdark, the drow once more meet the dwarves of Mithral Hall. Bruenor Battlehammer, with Drizzt at his side, won't go down without a fight - but they'll have to fight without Wulfgar or Catti-brie at their sides.

Perfect stories, but needs a new narrator!

Salvatore's Drizzt stories are fantastic, standard-setting high fantasy. However, listening to Victor Bevine read the books is painful. He whispers most of the time, then nearly yells when a battle begins. I had to adjust the audio dozens of times because of this. The every day conversational tone of talking characters (meaning Bevine whispers) is just out of place. I love these stories, but they're ruined with this narrator. I'm hoping that whoever hold the rights to have these books re-read by someone else, please do so! If they aren't re-done, I'll probably stick with reading them the old fashioned way via paperback or hardcover.

Inconsistent narrator pronunciation drives me nuts

After narrating 8 other Salvatore books, Victor Bevine decided to change up his pronunciation of Wulfgar's battlehammer. Suddenly, "Aegis Fang" is being pronounced "Eegis Fang" and it's so very, very jarring.

Bevine also pronounces "lived" as in, "short-lived" as "short lye-vd" which always throws me off, but at least he's *consistently* mispronounced that word.

I'm just writing this review to complain about this sudden, jarring change to Eeegis Fang's pronunciation, as it comes up often as a plot point in this particular book. Tsk tsk!

Victor bevine should go back to elementary english

it is amazing how one terrible narrator can ruin a story.
is there no one that checks this baffoons work?
learn to pronounce "lived" and especially "macabre" to names just 2. for crying out loud, I teach 10 year olds that understand the concept of silent letters better than this adult human. mad why does every nondwarf character get the same sultry voice? it's like he wanted to read crappy romance novels instead. it's not like those use complicated words like "macabre"

Sound always fades

I love these books and the series in general. I only wish that the sound didn't always fade in and out. sometimes you can barely hear what the narrator is saying and then all of a sudden it's like he's yelling.

A treat for the ears

Timeless Masterpiece. Victor Bevine is stellar as always. An action-packed entry in the Legend of Drizzt series. R.A. Salvatore leaves nothing to the imagination, and it feels as if you are actively observing events. Definitely one of my favorite entries just for the sheer scope.
