Good book?...Not so much!

Half way through this book and am not impressed. It is, so far, too much like "If Tomorrow Comes" . The narrator is worse than bad which makes it annoying to listen to. I hope that the second half speeds up and is more "gripping". I'll write another review when I have finished the second half.

Intriguing

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, if he/she likes the Sydney Sheldon's type of mystery stories. I have enjoyed the story, and the final comes rather unexpected.

What other book might you compare Sidney Sheldon’s After the Darkness to and why?

Reminds "If tomorrow comes", the same idea of justice and vengeance.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Caitlin Thorburn?

The narrator does not appeal to me at all, poor performance, often sounds hysterica. For me, Angela Dawe or Fred Stella are just perfect.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Gace's meeting Lenny in Madagascar!

Any additional comments?

Not as good as Sydney Sheldon, but pretty enjoyable. Don't try it if you are not inclined to that sort of literature.

Great story/writing - terrible performance

Would you consider the audio edition of Sidney Sheldon's After the Darkness to be better than the print version?

The performance by the narrator was so poor that it ruined the book for me on audible.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sidney Sheldon's After the Darkness?

Love his strong women characters that overcome adversity.

Would you be willing to try another one of Caitlin Thorburn’s performances?

NO!

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I think the poor performance made it hard to connect with the book.

I won’t recommend it.

The narration is so bad that I kept getting distracted. I didn’t enjoy it at all.

Excellent!

I loved this book and the story line. At times I thought it was going a certain way, then I was pleasantly surprised. I will be honest to say that I struggled with this narrators voice. To me that means a lot to my enjoyment of the book. that's just my opinion.

try it for yourself!!

Good story

The story was good but there were similarities to 'When tomorrow comes' in some parts.
The narrator was awful and had the most irritating different voices

A captivating story, but...

Many unexpected turns, although nearer the end one can guess the ending. I didn't like the performance. The reader's voice is unnerving.
Oberall this is a correct thriller that you listen to and forget, but this is quite relaxing...
