Publisher's summary

WARNING: Side effects may include the ability to catch a killer...

FBI Agent Maggie Allen had a gift for catching serial killers.

Now, following the death of her husband and son, she can barely get out of bed.

Desperate, Maggie agrees to take part in a drug trial - a last-ditch effort to find something that might help her cope.

The drug helps.

However, it also carries several unpleasant side effects, not the least of them being an exceptional heightening of all her senses...just the kind of thing her old partner could use to help the FBI track down a prolific serial killer who is proving impossible to catch.

Good

Trying to cope, after losing her loved ones. A good mystery and plot. Have read others by author and always good. The narration was good, given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Thriller

This was another thrilling story from Jeff Menapace. I think that the story was interesting and kept me listening, wanting to know what would happen next.
The narrator was pretty good, I enjoyed her reading.

Narrative okay good story.

Not a big fan of the narrator but the story was good. Does not compare to Bad Games or Wildlife though.

Awful narrator

I am a huge fan of Jeff Menapace and enjoy this story but the narration makes it very difficult to listen to. It sounds like they inserted her saying “I said” and “Morris said” in random places using an automated phone voice. Very distracting and annoying.

Narration Is Terrible

I love Jeff Men space books, however, I can't help but share the fact that the narrator is simply awful. Talk about annoying! I felt like I was listening to a washed up soap star on psychedelics. Do yourself a favor and READ the book. You'll save yourself the anguish of time wasted.

no spoilers here I just thought that the story was great but the ending wasn't up to par with the rest of the story.

Good, but not as good as other Jeff Menapace books

This book was good, but it was not as good as the other Jeff Menapace books that I have listened to in the past. The story was good, but the high pitched voice the narrator used for Maggie was not pleasant. I was glad the book was not a long one because of the narration.

Will definitely get in your head

This book shows how our lives can change in an instant, giving us the chance to reinvent ourselves in our own image. Perhaps it's fantasy that magic pills like these exist, but it's not crazy to wish that they did! What I wouldn't do to be the enhanced person that Angel Clark so eloquently speaks about in her narration of Side Effects.
