The narration is wonderful.
Ulrich Matthes is a superb narrator, sensitive, intelligent, with a pleasing, musical voice that is capable of gentleness, forcefulness, humour. Hesse's prose is mesmeric, and Ulrich Matthes captures and transmits perfectly its rhythmic flow.

So much wisdom!
A book that each human should have read at least once in their life, although many might never grasp it's full depth... but even that wouldn't matter because it still will always be am invitation to reflect upon life.

Superb!
Brilliantly written. Amazing how Hesse can describe internal states of consciousness. I marvel too at his ability to portray a convincing portrait of the enlightened state.
