The Math Geek And The Rookie?

What made the experience of listening to Should've Known Better the most enjoyable?

The accent was amazing and the badly pronounced French was endearing as well as amusing :) I probably shouldn't have... But I LOVED it! I know... I'm mean. But it kept the listening experience a bit light even when dealing with extremely difficult subject matter.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved how it dealt with serious issues that most people gloss over or ignore or deny. Hopefully it will help more people realize there is no fault in being a victim and that no matter who you are it can happen to you. Acceptance and understanding are the first steps to true healing.

Have you listened to any of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s performances are always stellar. This book was way more intense than most of the books I have listened to by them, but I am pretty sure that has something to do with the serious nature of some of the subject matter. I wish there were After School Specials like this when I was growing up! It was amazing and uplifting even when the worst things happened, due in a large part, to the true emotions conveyed by both actors as well as the great writing of the characters. I truly believe this book would not have been something I would have enjoyed even half as much without their performance. I hope the continue on in the series as they are a perfect fit!

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book. I can't wait to listen to Underneath It All!

Sara is so excited to start her new job as a Statistical Analysis for The Storm. Hockey has always been her favorite sport. She (and the NHL) believe she can really make a difference in the way the team plays leading to more goals, better playing, and winning more games. She expects a bit of flak especially because she is a woman... And because she doesn't think anyone will understand exactly what she is doing. Hopefully she can make a difference and get to keep her Dream Job! What she didn't expect was a rookie hockey player to take an instant shine to her... And refuse to give up no matter how hard she tried to dissuade him. Is she ready for a relationship? Or even a big of fun? Is it worth risking both of their careers over? Can she resist him? Should she even try?

***This chicklit contemporary sports romances series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy some drama, horror and heartache and quite a bit of humor before the requisite HEA :)

Math Geek Meets Her Match

I’m not into sports or hockey, but I really enjoyed this setting. I got a kick out of the team members’ interaction and the pranks they played on each other. I loved the pairing of a math geek with a sports celebrity. Both Sebastian and Sarah are wonderful characters that were brought to life by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. Seb is such a sweetheart. I fell in love with him.

Ross and Kennicott are awesome narrators. I just love listening to them. They really nailed the emotional aspects of the story, which involves date rape and its after effects.

This is definitely worth a credit, and I can’t wait to listen to Rob’s story in Underneath It All.

Loved this story

Where does Should've Known Better rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Should've Known Better is one of my favorites because I really enjoyed this hockey romance written by the author and the narrators brought the story and characters to life for me. I found myself smiling and chuckling as I was listening and I cannot wait to listen to more audio books from them.

What other book might you compare Should've Known Better to and why?

The book reminded me a bit of Rocked: Lost in Oblivion because the narrators also performed this story. The heroine in both had similar personalities to me and had the same humor which I loved,

Have you listened to any of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross's performance before and they are two of my favorite narrators. I love the different emotions they put into the characters especially the humor in the scenes.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Sarah came rushing to Sebastian's side after learning of his ordeal and confessed about their secret relationship to everyone without thought of the consequences to herself. Throughout the whole story, she was hesitant about divulging for fear of losing her job the hockey team.

Great story!

I loved the narrative duo. It adds so much to the dynamic having a man and woman reading the story. Should've known better is a steamy, sweet romance, that like so many relationships has its ups and downs. Great start to a new series. Sarah and Sebastian are great main characters and Cassandra Carr does a great job building the characters in the beginning of the book. Can't wait to listen to the next in the series!

Amazing!

This book was super amazing! I didn't think I would care for it much being that it was about hockey, but I loved it! Who knew that such a violent game could have such romantic undertones! The narrators were great as well, but I may be biased on that being as I've heard several books narrated by them. I feel they turn any book into a fantastic audiobook!
