Alice had been living in silent fear, it seemed like forever, of hearing that fateful knock at her door. She wasn't some criminal. She had made mistakes, but everybody made little mistakes like that. It didn't seem like a big deal. Most people didn't get caught. But those who did...she just hoped whatever came, it would be quick. Until then, she can only keep her head down and pray that she can make it through another day without facing the merciless gaze of The Green Police.
