Publisher's summary

I’m a professional chickenblocker.

Except “chicken” is a euphemism.

I get paid to follow a womanizing troglodyte who thinks rules are for other people and that my pants are the next pair he’s getting into.

Dream on.

Bet your first professional job didn’t involve babysitting an extremely hot, muscle-bound Scottish highlander with an ego the size of a kilt and a libido bigger than his…well…

Chicken.

Keeping Scottish football (that’s "soccer" to us Americans) player Hamish McCormick away from inappropriate scandals while he does product endorsement campaigns is my mission.

No problem.

Until Hamish decides I’m his next scandal.

And maybe more...

Shopping for a Highlander is an enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn romance that opens with a surprise kiss and ends with a happily ever after. This sports comedy in the New York Times best-selling Shopping for a Billionaire world contains no actual chickens, but it has plenty of locker room scenes, a fake relationship, very real banter, and more. You do not have to have listened to the previous books in this world, though after you hear about Amy and Hamish, you’ll want to. ;)

Great Next Step for Hamish and Amy

I knew Hamish was not just a jerk. There were clues in every book until he finally opened up to Amy.

I loved Amy & Hamish's story!

Amy graduates and interviews for a job that ends up making her Hamish's handler to keep him out of trouble. What a hilarious and fun time they have.
I loved every minute of this super slow burn story.

Hilarious and heartwarming! Fantastic narration!

Hamish and Amy’s bickering friendship goes from bad to worse as his reputation takes a nose dive into scandal and her new MBA earns her the job of a lifetime…shutting down his amorous pursuits and rehabbing his reputation. I have to say the Scottish charmer turns downright belligerent at times but his frustrations lead to hilarious circumstances and unforeseen consequences for both characters. I enjoyed watching how spectacularly the baller falls while Amy struggles with her growing feelings and not always being in control. Behind all of that bravado lies a sensitive man and I fell in love along with Amy. The best part of this story was the hilarious, and heartwarming vocal performances of Shane East and Emma Wilder whose Scottish accents and comedic genius are absolutely delicious!

One of the best RomCom series ever

From the first chapter Julia Kent had me hooked on Hamish McCormick and Amy Jacoby’s story. If there is one thing I know when I start a book by this author, I know I am in for an entertaining read that will have me laughing so much that I will cry.

OMG Shane East and Emma Wilder had me laughing until I cried. Their narration was outstanding and had me glued to my earphones as I devoured this story.

After reading Shopping for a Turkey, I couldn’t wait to dive into this book. This book was so good. The family and shenanigans were as outrageous as always and made for a fun read. Not only was it funny but the chemistry that sizzles between Hamish and Amy was impossible to ignore.

Amy has been tasked with keeping Hamish out of trouble and she has her work cut out for her, particularly when he decides to focus his attention on her. There’s a fine line between love and hate and It was so much fun to watch the push and pull as they navigated their relationship. It was also great to see all the familiar faces that we have come to know and love make an appearance.

Shopping For A Highlander was a fabulous addition to one of my favourite romantic comedy series.

Entertaining

This is the second in this series and the first I have read in the series. I met Amy in a previous Billionaire’s book. There she is a supporting character for her sister. This installment can be read as a stand-alone.

This is Hamish and Amy's story; Scottish football player Hamish McCormick and Amy Jacoby. They met at her sister’s, Shannon’s wedding seven years prior and last November when he attended Thanksgiving at the Jacoby home. He also shows up at her graduation in April/May time frame.

I liked the interactions of the characters, how Amy tries to protect her heart by clauses she has inserted in her employment contract to be Hamish’s handler for the next few months – until her company can secure an eight figure deal for Hamish and her company.
There is a lot riding on Hamish staying out of the negative public light and Amy is placed in the middle.

I enjoyed the humor, miscommunications, Venus vs Mars situations, and cultural difference that add to the mayhem.

Loved the narrators, they deeply enhanced the story. Looking forward to the next installment.

Rom-Com gold

This story was so much fun to listen to and I enjoyed every word of it. Hamish and all of his crazy Scottish phrases and words had me cracking me, it was like I was back in Scotland.

Hamish is a Footballer at the top of his game and the endorsements are coming in like crazy. However, he has a reputation of being a ladies man so Amy is hired to watch over him and make sure he stays in line without any more scandals. The two know each other, his cousin married into her family, and also have shared a kiss or two in the past. But Amy is there to be a professional and make sure her job gets done.

Hamish and Amy are absolutely hilarious and I loved their banter. They are perfectly made for each other and I smiled throughout this whole book. Even when Hamish was being a numpty. They definitely have a love hate relationship that worked so well for these two. It had me cracking up and I couldn’t wait to get to the ending. “Shopping for the Highlander” is rom-com gold and I hope we get more from them in future books.

Shane East and Emma Wilder were amazing, once again. They were the perfect choices. Emma’s male voice is always top notch and she did a great job with the male Scottish accent.
