Publisher's summary

A new short story by New York Times best-selling thriller writer Ben Coes — with time running out, Dewey Andreas is the last hope for a prominent kidnapping victim.

The newly sworn in vice president of the United States has a problem. Her son, off in college, doesn't care for his security detail. So when spring break comes around, he slips away from his bodyguard, picks up his best friend, and heads to Mexico for an intended week of sun, sand, women, and hoped-for debauchery. But when he arrives at the airport, a team of well-armed kidnappers grab both him and his friend and escape. Now they're demanding that an exorbitant ransom be paid in only a few hours - and if it's not, both boys will be killed.

Dewey Andreas, CIA operative and former Delta, happens to be in Mexico, taking some time away and helping friends Katie Fox and Rob Tacoma with a private job. Hoping to relax, Andreas is now the only hope these two young men have of surviving their misadventure. But Mexico is a big country and, before anything else, Dewey has to find the missing boys. Even then, it's a race against the clock, with a highly trained group of vicious men waiting at the other end.

An original Dewey Andreas short story by best seller Ben Coes.

Short but good!

Although it was a short story and didn’t really allow for any character development, the story was good. Loved the action and narrator.

It was okay but...

This title seems like a purely commercial venture, and more so than the other books put out by this author. No frills, emotions, or character development. Would rather have a longer book with more development, but it is what it is.

Short, but packed

Hard to stuff a lot in such a short time, but they sure did try.
Of course don't expect a complicated story, but still fun to listen to.

Fun and exciting but a little unrealistic

I know there are libertines taken in all these types of books but the second half of this one was a little more out there than normal. That said, exciting and fun short to breeze through in an hour. Worth a listen but not on the same writing scale as the novels

Good very short story!

SHOOTING GALLERY packs a lot of action into 75 minutes. I suspect the story is intended to introduce the new US VP for Coes' Bloody Sunday which will be released the last day of July.

...would have been a great full novel!

This was definitely one of the best short stories I’ve listened to. Love Ari Fliakis as the narrator and hats off to Ben Coes for a very entertaining short story. It definitely left me wanting more!

Fun story but not so great narration..

No matter what all these silly reviewers say this was a cute little story. It taught the kid, Toby, a lesson in ditching your security.

No romance and no swearing.

As for the narration: If the voices of the characters in the 8th book are anything like the 7.5 short story I'm not going to like it. Dewey's voice is nondescript. He won't stand out like he did in the other books.
