Publisher's summary

A wicked snowstorm had blown in from the north and the roads were a mess. Recently split from his one-time girlfriend, there was now nothing holding Cameron Decker here in the little backwater mountain town of Larksburg Stand. Time to get back to college, back to Stanford. Seeing a guy knee-deep in slush at the side of the road, he pulled to the curb and waved him over. The guy smacked his head getting in - knocked his watch cap askew. Only then did Cameron notice - noticed that the individual couldn't possibly be human.

Cameron decided to help his stranded passenger - a decision he'd soon come to regret. Along with his rust-bucket of a pickup truck, he was soon heading deep into space aboard an interstellar spacecraft. After the vessel crash-landed onto an alien world, he would now have to contend with a murderous droid and a slew of strange alien life forms. But it is the 45-foot tall killer beast - a Minal Loth - that will impact is life the most. Marooned, Cameron must keep his wits to survive long enough to find a way to return home - back to that little mountain town, and that girl, who he should never have left in the first place.

So much fun...

I really enjoyed this book. It's short. But, no wasted words make for a longer feel to it. I can't wait to share it with others.

A great little happy space opera - worth a credit

Enjoyed this one. Sometimes a bit predictable- but not in an annoying way - and the basic premise is a nice twist on the normal approach. Have fun.

great fun.

clearly the beginning of a series that I would like to explore. it's not quite what the editors blog implies, but it also will clearly get there I suspect in the next novel. I much enjoyed it. Read the blurb in the description, and if the idea is enjoyable then you'll like this book.

Ok that was fun! light easy fun.

This book was a fun fast easy storie and i liked it alot.
Fresh and fast like the bob's. but not as smart.
Look out for a plot hole or two and turn the "Suspension of Disbelief" dial up.

sit back and enjoy a fun story.

recommended to all.

fun easy satisfying.

I have followed MWM for a while now, read
the entire scrap-ship series and loved them all. This story is light hearted fun and simple. And honestly that makes it rather charming.

A fun, entertaining story!

I thought the main character, Cam, sounded a bit like a dufus in this story, although he wasn't really. Could be because of the way it was narrated though. Over all story narration was pretty good. Characters were a bit on the YA level. but I didn't mind. I loved the author's imagination the best, especially with the AI's and tech tools. Sometimes it's nice not getting involved with a deep complex book and just listening to an easy, fun, entertaining story for a change. I really enjoyed this one.

huh, ok, ok

Not going to lie, I was really skeptical, but this was very good, taken into account that this was my first audiobook. Made my graveyard shift fly by. Bummed out I've gotta rely on the "included" slop for a month until I earn another credit.

Great adventure!

This is such a great listen!! I'd read this book a couple of years ago, but the audio version rounds out the details and gives the story a whole fresh new perspective. Fun, and a great adventure!
