Publisher's Summary

Lady of gentle birth, Scottish, young, penniless, possessing strong psychic powers - she will devote her services to the solving of uncanny mysteries or the "laying of ghosts".

Left destitute by her uncle's death and with no other employment opportunities, Shiela Crerar runs an ad in a London newspaper offering her unusual services. Her adventures take her from the streets of 1920s Edinburgh to the romantic Scottish Highlands, where she uses her "sight" and her knowledge of local lore and history to confront ghosts, demons, werewolves, and other supernatural creatures.

Very interesting

I totally enjoyed each case solved by Shield Crerar. All held my interest. But my favorite was the last one, which you will have to listen to the book if you want to know about it.

The narration was excellent. this was the first time I listened to this narrator and I look forward to more.

I received this audible free, this is my honest review.

Sheila Psychic Detective Extraordinaire

Sheila takes on trying to keep the family home in the family by going to work. She finds out that she is psychic and uses those skills to solve many unsolved mysteries that others will not. Many of these mysteries are paranormal related and it is only through her strength and fortitude that she survives solving what others have not. The narrator brings the accent of the psychic and makes you feel as if you are in a different country experiencing everything with her. Each mystery is interesting and has twists that you don't always see in one book. This book was a fantastic listen to and I would eagerly listen to a sequel.

Things That Go Bump In The Night

This interesting story uses the device of a young Scottish psychic at the beginning of the 20th century to provide a framework for a collection of paranormal (mostly ghost) tales. They're well told and deal with everything from haunted torture rooms to vengeful bridegrooms with a werewolf thrown in for good measure.
I enjoyed the tales although I would have liked to see a little more development of the heroine in as she's an interesting character.
All in all, a worthwhile read if you're a fan of good horror stories that will creep you out a bit without leaving you sleepless for days.

Creepy Good

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This book was creepy good. I loved it and it’s adventure felt like I was reading a Sherlock Holmes. And I love mysteries.
While this is not a Sherlock Holmes adventure I still recommend this to those that love them. This book is great!
