About the Creator and Performer

Songwriter. Activist. Rock star. Woman. Champion. Mother. Nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow is many things, but at the core, she remains a creative spirit channeling her talents into music that lifts people up, brings them together, and speaks to the truths on the horizon. Twenty-five years after winning her first Grammy, as well as Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "All I Wanna Do," the Kennett, Missouri-born guitarist/vocalist/creative thought about all she’d done, the places she’d been, the lives that’d touched hers—and saw the rich tapestry her journey had become. Crow’s is a career beyond dreams, with songs that defined the third wave of feminism, a rockist’s ability to sweep the pop charts without losing any edge and enough wide-open Midwestern joy to captivate the world. In 2019, Crow released her critically acclaimed album THREADS via The Valory Music Co., a collection of collaborations made with and in tribute to artists with whom Crow has musical connections. And in turn, she seeks to inspire people through her music and songs, especially the younger generation. "The passion and ability of our young people to dig deep and express themselves energizes and encourages me endlessly," Crow says. "It thrills me to see their passion and will to change the world." With new relevancy ahead of the 2020 election, Crow offers a rousing, reimagined take on her 2012 B-side, "Woman In The White House"— a show of solidarity with Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden’s announcement of a female running mate.

Good listen

I forgot how much I love Sheryl Crow. Growing up, I really related to her music. I felt the melancholy she talks about. Probably why I loved her music. It’s nice to hear a little about her story. It gives me hope and faith that there are better days to come and not everything has to be figured out right now. Thank you Sheryl for sharing your story.

Insightful

I've enjoyed Sheryl Crow's music ever since I started listening to her in the mid-1990s. She is a talented songwriter and has a great voice. I didn't realize she was a piano player as well as a guitarist; I've been playing piano since age 7 and never made the jump to stringed instruments.

It's terrible that there were so many scumbags in the music industry, and I can see how rich executives would be able to take advantage of musicians, especially attractive young female musicians just starting out. Hopefully that has changed.

Yes, relationships are definitely interesting, but it looks like she has her house in order now, and being focused on family, mental health, and living a good and happy life are what any sane person's priorities should be. While I'm a bit sad she won't be putting out any new albums, the focus these days is more on individual songs than entire albums, so that's to be expected.

Well worth the listen.

Thank you Sheryl

Of course I am not famous, nor am I a musician, however, I can relate to your emotional and spiritual journey. It was freeing to hear there are others who feel and react to life the same way. I have always loved your music, and now I know why. I will probably listen to this many more times. Thank you audible!

Powerful woman..

These little stories each artist gets to explain themselves about certain times in their careers is what draws me to this type of listen. She is a very empowering woman with a positive outcome. Perfect kind of story from an influential woman that can inspire a younger generation of women who rock.
