Publisher's Summary

Sheer Mischief by best-selling author Jill Mansell is an unmissable romantic comedy about sisterly love and rivalry.... Not to be missed by listeners of Sophie Kinsella and Marian Keyes.

It's not that Janey Sinclair isn't pleased to see her sister. It's just that being woken at seven by Maxine, complete with police escort, isn't quite how she'd planned to spend her Sunday. Even so, Janey, who's just rebuilding her life after her husband disappeared, is delighted that her sister's back in the Cornish town where they grew up.

When Maxine sets her sights on Guy Cassidy, an impossibly glamorous fashion photographer, Janey knows there's no limit to the mischief her sister will get up to in order to dispatch her rivals. But little do they know that the competition is a lot closer to home than they think....

Dreadfully boring author

I had to give up listening and so did my daughter! The narrator had no enthusiasm

Pure escapism

Loved this and was sad when I finished it. Shame no sequel would buy it in an instant. Narrator was great at drawing you into the story.

Great book !!

This is about my tenth book by Jill Mansell and I picked it because of the story and because the narrator was Ester Wane. Loved it. On to the next one...

Great feel good story

This is a great story with a twist. I love the portrayal of sisterhood, and the way Jaynie's character blossoms from this shy, unconfident, wall flower to a happy, strong and independent woman.

One of her best

I have read most of JM's books and enjoyed most of them but I rate this as one of her best. Like the story and the narration.
Just one criticism, she should lose her weakness for the descriptions 'fuschia pink' and 'conker brown', they seem to crop up in most of her books.I have read.

Kept me coming back

This book stayed with me kept me coming back over a long period . I had a few things going on while listening but every time I went back to it only had to hear the narrators voice and the plot came rushing back to me . That’s a good book 📚.

Are you Serious?

The narrator is monotone at best, I kept going with it, I hate wasting money.
It's got to get better right?
Spent many hours gritting my teeth with the unemotional delivery, concentrating on the story and hoping it would get better.
Whilst the story is predictable, I was nevertheless engaged and enjoying how it was unfolding.
The return of the missing partner with unforeseen and previously unknown mental illness is the MOST ridiculous and dangerously handled scenario I've come across.
This should have a Trigger warning.
