Duke returns to Teldin as an Immortal—and finds it already breaking. While he stood beyond mortality, war came home. His allies are scattered or enslaved, his forces battered and bleeding, holding a collapsing final line against an enemy that conquers minds as easily as worlds. Every second costs more ground. Every victory comes too late.

With no hope of immediate triumph, Duke makes the unthinkable choice: abandon Teldin and save what remains. As he gathers the last survivors and flees to a new home, he and his remaining allies seek a way to fight back the monsters that have taken control of the planet. Duke turns to new Abilities to grow his power far beyond what he could ever have imagined but all power comes at a cost and power changes more than the battlefield.

Duke grows beyond them, his friends and companions wrestle with doubt, fear, and the widening gulf between mortal and Immortal. Determined not to be left behind, they push past their limits, risking everything to stand beside him when the end finally comes.

In the shadows, the Syndicate tightens its grip, consuming entire Dungeons to fuel its ships, while the Twin Entities maneuver toward a conclusion that could unmake Duke's reality.

When Duke returns to the war, he does not defend, he hunts. With worlds already shattered and time running out, he strikes at the Syndicate's military heart, preparing the final campaign to free all Dungeons or see them erased forever.

Shattered Worlds is the explosive penultimate volume of the series where lines are drawn, sacrifices are made, and Duke's ultimate fate hurtles toward its final reckoning.
