Lenny

I’m a responsible guy, so I’m the logical choice to get custody of my niece and nephew when my sister and her husband die in a car accident. What were they thinking to have me share custody with Patton? He’s impulsive, laidback, and an actor, of all things. We have nothing in common, and I don’t see how this arrangement is going to work. Living with him and raising two children? It’s crazy - so why does it seem to make more and more sense the longer our arrangement lasts? I’m falling for a guy who doesn’t do responsible or committed, and I can’t seem to stop. I’m not usually so reckless with my heart, but Patton makes me open up and let him in.

Patton

Lenny has me all wrong. Okay, I am impulsive and definitely laidback, but I’m also responsible, and I have a killer work ethic. He might not appreciate acting is more than a hobby, but it’s my life - until my best friend and his wife are killed, and they leave me half-custody of two little kids. Suddenly, I’m trading makeup sessions for princess tea parties and find it satisfying, but I still have dreams and goals. Even though I’m falling for Lenny, and I’m content with our newly forming family, I don’t want to let go of those when I have the chance of a lifetime. Lenny considers it unimportant, making me feel like I have to choose between my new life and my old when there doesn’t seem to be a way to compromise.

Heartwarming

What a great story with all the feels you would expect but plenty of mishaps along the way. There might even have been some tissues needed at times.

match making from the grave

This was such a set up from the get go that a blind person coukd see it coming. Why was Patton so against rules and structure? smh! Patton can be such an @$$h@t a lot of the time and so childish. He should have been more into compromise instead of trying to be the "fun" parent. One person has to be an adult and realistic, and that was Lenny(and me). Twists and turns, obstacles to overcome, compromises to be made and lead to a hea. Glad to see Patton grow and Lenny become more flexible. The narrator did a great job. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

Loved the book.

I really really enjoyed the book. It’s something that’s special, that just has to be read( or heard), not described. You really feel involved in the drama of the story - it almost feels like you’re going through it yourself. It really kept me entertained, and I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

very good

this was extremely good story at times I cried the only reason why I didn't give it the full five star is I did not like the narrator at times his voice was very bad the dead room scenes were so unbelievable did I fast-forward through them it would have been an awesome awesome story if it was narrated by someone other than the narrator him

Sweet Enemies to lovers

It's a sweet story though hard to like Lenny at first, The pacing is off for me and it had a little bit of an underdeveloped feel to it like things happened but there wasn't much explanation or resolution to it all or it;s resolved to quickly. Overall the narrator made it worth the listen.

solid 3.5 stars

Did the story keep me engaged: not really
Were there any parts I found annoying: not particularly
Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: not on this one - sorry!
Would I listen to it again: probably not

I really wanted to love this book, I generally enjoy joint titles by Peter Styles / JP Oliver - this one had great premise but just fell short to my exceptions. Two men, established in their lifestyles thrust into parenthood after a tragic accident. It felt as though one character wanted to make the family work and the other didn't, then the opposite would happen. It felt as though neither was really on the same page or considerate / supportive of the other until the last quarter of the story. I just didn't feel any connection to either main character in this one.

Ken Solin did a good job narrating this book, it was easy to tell the characters apart and all the emotions and intonations were there to bring the book to life. I did need to speed it up to 1.25, but that was probably more due to the device I was listening on over anything the narrator was doing.

I was given a free copy of this book at my request - it has in no way influenced my review.

Wonderful Enemies to Lovers Story

This is my first book performed by Ken Solin. I enjoyed his narration.

This story was wonderful. I don’t usually like enemies to lovers but this one was well written.

The two main characters are thrown together under terrible circumstances. We get to see the evolution of each character through this tragedy.

If you enjoy a story where the couple actively tries to make the relationship work this is one that will not disappoint.

Unable to finish

I was provided a copy of this book via a free audio code and was not able to finish the book. While the story was interesting, I was not able to connect with the narrator who I found disappointing. I may try to relisten in the future but for now I can only give this recording three stars

Loved it

This is another great read by Peter Styles and J.P. Oliver. This story is about Lenny who a little uptight and Patton who is laid back. The two are thrown together, when Lenny's sister and her husband who is best friends with Patton, both pass away in a car accident and leave their two children to be raised by both men. The parents request video has some hard truths about both men, and why both would be best together. Both men are honest and caring with their main focus on the children. With the twist & turns, the obstacles and comprises the men need to make, really open their eye to what each man is really about. I love watching their love story unfold. The narration was very well done.

FROM ENEMIES TO LOVERS

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Lenny and Patton are forced together when they receive joint custody of Lenny’s sister’s and Patton’s best friend’s children, Jana and Rami. Lenny has a huge dislike for Patton and Patton is not sure what Lenny’s problem is, other than Lenny does not take him seriously. Life experiences with the children show them what the other is like. There are great parts in this story worth reading with anticipation.

At first, I thought the narrator’s voice would drive me crazy, but it was perfect for Lenny. A job done well
