Publisher's Summary

Welcome back to the sleepy little town of Shakespeare, Arkansas, where secrets come to hide. Lily Bard has joined a group therapy session with counselor Tamsin Lynd, determined finally to face her violent past. Great story, narration was a distraction here!

What did you like most about Shakespeare's Counselor?

A crime story set in an unconventional situation.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lily. A very convincing, complex character.

What didn’t you like about Julia Gibson’s performance?

She was fine narrating a woman, but her narration of male characters was dreadful. She made them all sound at best wooden, at worst, robots. It was a repeated distraction for me. I would be inclined to read the other books in the series if she was narrating the audio editions.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was too long to do so in day-to-day life, but certainly engaging enough to do so if travelling.

Excellent story and narration.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Having just discovered this series I listened to all of them one after the other in order.

I would definitely recommend to others.

What did you like best about this story?

The stories are well constructed and interesting with appropriate voice and characterisation. I loved that Lily's character grew from book to book.

What does Julia Gibson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Her voice evoked the setting of the book very well for me. The light southern accents and nuances of the characters.

A great series.

First read this series back to back in an omnibus edition. Great characters and stories.

The audio edition in some ways improved the series Julia Gibson's performance gives voice to Lilly's character and I listened to each book in one sitting and will listen again.

It would have been good to have more of Lilly's adventures although both Lilly and Jack do appear as characters in the Sookie Stackhouse (trueblood) series.

Charlaine Harris writes many a good story.

Enjoyable as always, excellent story well narrated

I really enjoy listening to Charlaine's crime mysteries, in journeys and at night when I'm resting my eyes, before sleep.

Lily is one of her great characters - always pragmatic and grounded.
My only complaint is this is the last one, though there's always Aurora😉, Harper😃& Gunnie😁
