Shakespeare: His Life and Work

De: William Shakespeare

Narrado por: Dame Judi Dench, David Weston, Richard Hampton, Timothy West

Welcome to the wonderful world of William Shakespeare. CSA Word presents a collection of extracts from all of The bard's plays; from Hamlet to Cymbeline, and Romeo and Juliet to Pericles. This truly comprehensive selection includes many of Shakespeare's most famous and familiar speeches, together with other lesser-known revelations and some music, songs and sonnets too. The source extracts are linked by an informative and well-researched commentary written and read by actors and creators of this project, Richard Hampton and David Weston. They provide an ideal, beautifully performed introduction to Shakespeare's plays, and a glimpse of the man himself with many fascinating facts and little-known information.

Shakespeare: his Life and Work will prove an excellent guide and reference for the student of Shakespeare, but perhaps more importantly it is accessible to all listeners and serves as a unique celebration of Shakespeare's works, relaying how beautiful his timeless words and truths can sound given the very best treatment.

"I found this combined biography and commentary so engrossing I listened to it twice."

Shakespeare by Dench

With Dame Judi Dench as the female voice throughout, this audiobook could only be rated as excellent. She could read the toilet paper wrap and people would pay to hear it. The context of the book and the history of his plays is of great interest and done quite well.

a wonderful review of Shakespeare's work!

the selections from the various plays were well chosen and well narrated, but the performances by judi drnch and Timothy West worked perfectly to bring out the Bard's genius, as well as their own.

wonferful
