Publisher's summary

Joel thinks nothing is going on in his small town. But he's wrong. One day, a miracle happens to him. He's very nearly run over by a bus, but is miraculously unhurt. Shouldn't he show gratitude somehow? Surely a good deed of some sort is in order. But what?

Have to be a fan

This is a fairly good Mankell but unless you are a fan of his style I would skip. It does not have the same strength of character development he uses in the Wollander novels

This book needs a review...

I picked up this Mankell work, expecting a cop story...author must be working on career broadening because it just isn't the usual Mankell. Readers accustomed to Kurt Wallander will find this book lacking much of his trademark suspense...boring. Don't think that I'll do another in this series.
