Publisher's Summary
The brand new thriller in the Sunday Times best-selling series
As it often did since he'd married a cop, murder interrupted more pleasant activities. The again, Roarke supposed, the woman lying in a pool of her own blood a few steps inside the arch in Washington Square Park had a heftier complaint.
When a night out at the theatre is interrupted by the murder of a young woman in Washington Square Park, it seems like an ordinary case for Detective Eve Dallas and her team. But when Roarke spots a shadow from his past in the crowd, Eve realises that this case is far from business as usual.
Eve has two complex cases on her hands - the shocking murder of this wealthy young mother and tracking down the shadow before he can strike again, this time much closer to home. Eve is well used to being the hunter, but how will she cope when the tables are turned? As Eve and the team follow leads to Roarke's hometown in Ireland, the race is on to stop the shadow making his next move....

Great except for the almost Missing Chapter
I am grateful that I read the ebook first or I would be confused. This audiobook download, (on 3 devices) chapter nine is two minutes and eleven seconds long. Some significant things happen in the missing chapter. I wasn't aware this was abridged.
Edit -I emailed customer service and they replied that this is not the full version but it's the only version that comes up when searched for and is NOT marked as abridged. They gave me a link and I can't buy the full version as its unavailable in my region. This has only happened since MacMillian took over from Brilliance.
Edit 2 09/15/20. Looks like it has been fixed. Ot is now 11 H 59 Minutes as is the "american region; version

Terrible recording
12 November 2020 - DOES ANYONE KNOW IF AUDIBLE HAVE BOTHERED TO ADD THE 2 CHAPTERS THAT WERE MISSING IN ORIGINAL RECORDING YET! I DOWNLOADED AND RETURNED TWICE BEFORE SO I AM NOT GOING TO PURCHASE AGAIN UNTIL I CAN BE SURE THE ENTIRE BOOK HAS BEEN RECORDED!
I have contacted Audible twice to inform them that chapters 9 & 13 are missing large amounts of the text and suggested they need to re-record the entire work! Absolutely horrible audio of the book! Am very disappointed!
17/9/20 update. They tell me it was fixed but when I followed instructions and tried downloading again still not complete. Have exchanged for refund. Not worth the cash buy. I might use a credit and try again with it later. A huge disappointment, though.
19/9/20 updated. Purchased 2nd time and redownloaded fresh. NO CHANGES TO CONTENT. This has not improved, still 1 hr of content unrecorded/missing. I will have to claim refund a 2nd time and give up entirely on this one. I am really disappointed!
3/12/20 update: Funny how Audible said something must be wrong with my device, because I downloaded from Kobo Audible & surprise it is complete and without a hitch! It’s not my device Audible, it’s your recording that is stuffed! My advice to listeners-download this title from another audio provider!!

fix the incomplete chapters
I'm not sure what's worse, the incomplete chapters or Audible.com's customer service.... no, it's the customer service that's the worst. At least the version on Kobo Audible is now complete while Audible keeps pretending it is a problem with our devices... ALL our devices.
Not a happy customer.

One of the best for a while
Really enjoyed this latest book in the series. As mentioned by others there is a crucial chapter (9) cut short in the recording. I’ve reported it to customer service so hopefully they’ll sort it soon. I was so into the story at that point I actually purchased the accompanying kindle version so I could keep going.

Several parts are missing
As others have remarked, several whole chunks of a few chapters are missing, despite me re-downloading it, and trying different devices. I have had it on Pre-order for months as this is my favourite series. I tried your Chat help, but all she could offer was a credit. I don't want a credit, I want to read the book! Please get this fixed. I have just checked and the USA version has an hour more than the UK version. I presume that hour covers the bits missing from our UK edition. So I presume you can simply supply us with the USA version?

Aside from the missing chapters the book was great
The missing chapters in this book are such a shame. I ended up getting the ebook so I could read the missing parts of the two chapters. I contacted Audible and they put in a support ticket so I'm hoping that I can get a copy of the book again when it is complete.
I loved the book and how everyone came together to surround Eve and Roarke. I always adore these books and this was very fast paced. Fingers crossed they get the chapter thing sorted as it did spoil it for me quite a bit.

Current version of book corrupt.
Just wanted to let potential fellow listeners know that there is an issue with the Audible UK version of the book. Chapters 9 and 13 are incomplete and stop after 2 mins 11 secs and 6 mins and 33 secs respectively. On the US site the book length is 11 hours and 59 mins but the UK running time is only 10 hours 59 mins. I suggest waiting until this issue is resolved before spending your credit/cash.

Roarke past has caught him up
I loved this book. This one is slightly different from most of the books in this brilliant series, a series that is one of my favourites, as Eve Dallas know who the killer is right from the start and it is a case of out thinking him and finding out where he is going to be next. With all the gang involved it is a race against a killer to keep Roarke and his family safe. This means the story is less a mystery more a good insight into how Dallas tracks him down which is just as fascinating. There is also a lighter side to the story with the opening of the school for disadvantage children and I must admit I did need tissues when the killer played mind games with Dallas. Once again the big cast of characters is spending time with family because with book 51 we know them so well and it's a long running series for a VERY good reason.
When a woman is killed, Roarke discovers the mean streets of Ireland and his past has caught up with him. A hitman who claims to be the only legitimate son of Patrick Roarke is in New York with a score to settle and a mission to finally complete. Eve Dallas not only has to track down the killer before he kills any more innocents but also keep the authorities chasing him from getting any information that they can use against her husband. As the killer spirals things get close to home and Dallas will need the help from her whole team to put a stop to a deadly killer.

I had listened to all of the JD Robb books and I usually love them. I want to love this one but it is incomplete, chapters just stop mid-sentence and jump to a new part of the story.
I am hoping that audible will be releasing a revised version that contains the WHOLE book.

One of the best
This was a beautiful story in Viking both the past and the present the holder skelter of New York and the beauty of island. It comes full circle in a way that is both thought-provoking and has a realistic sense of family and connection. The only criticism I would have is the editing which seems to have cut several sentences or even parts of chapters out of the book. At one point there’s a chapter that ends mid sentence and clearly when the story restarts there is a whole patch that is missing. I believe that may have happened more than once in the story, other than that I really really loved a lot about it. As usual the relationship between both the main characters and side characters are well executed and interesting, the loyalty of the police to their own and how they embrace someone who was once on the opposite side to them but it’s become one of them, it is really well done and nice to read.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.
