Publisher's summary

They say you can never go home again. God, I wish.

With the body-hopping supernatural psychos finally vanquished, it seems like it might be time to relax. You know, have some fun. Hang out with my friends. Focus on my magical education. And, if all goes according to plan, take my relationship with Kai to the next level. Trust me, having spent my early-20s locked up in an institution, I’m more than ready to celebrate that particular rite of passage. But if I’ve learned anything in my short time in the world of witches, it’s never to let your guard down.

No sooner do we attempt to chill a little than we get a big, fat reminder that two bitter enemies remain very at large. Clearly, they haven’t forgotten me either, since I soon end up in one of their videos using my magic for all the world to see. As intended, their little stunt puts me at dead center of the Hunter movement’s crosshairs. With that kind of target on my back, no wonder I soon find myself cornered. My only means of escape involves jumping through the veil into my old stomping grounds, only to get stuck in that particular version of Hell. I also soon learn there are others there like me, cambions who very much need to be rescued. But in order to save them, I need to stay in monster form long enough to pull it off - my Demon Soul very much in the driver’s seat. The problem being, I’m not sure if she’ll ever let me take back the wheel. If not, then I can say goodbye to Kai and my human friends forever, since I’ll be going full-on demon. Which means I won’t be coming back, my new cambion friends will die, and the Hunters will keep hunting witches.

Crossroads Witch is a fast-paced, unpredictable new urban fantasy series that listeners are calling “amazing”, “with strong female leads”, and “full of excitement!” If you like snarky kickass heroines, fast-paced action, magic, witchcraft and romance, then grab it today!

Any is incredible

My favorite scene is the demon realm! Wow. Amy brings about a flair to countless characters throughout the novel and really brings the story to life. The ending is worth it too and brings about the next story in a unique way beyond the imagination. It is a great listen in the car for long road trips or back and forth from work. I love the stories and so far one of my favorite narrators is Amy!!!

I love this Series

The continuation of Amaya's story with a large dash of snarky Cassie. Amaya us really beginning to learn about her powers and herself. we get a glimpse into how Amaya grew up and meet some new friends as well as old acquaintances along the way in this action packed story. This story doesn't exactly end in a cliffhanger, it's more like real life where you know more adventure awaits.

Another great book by J.S. Malcom!

You can't help but fall in love with these characters. This is the first series I have listened to by J.S. Malcom and I am so happy to have done so. I am a big fan of Malcom's books and after reading a review of what a great job Amy Hall does with the narration, I decided to give it a listen. All I can say is, she does a great job and I promise, you will be thoroughly entertained. My only complaint would be that the book is too short. You get drawn in and the next thing you know its over. My advice is to give this series a listen- you will not regret it.

Non-stop action

Let me start by saying that the narrator did a great job with this story. Kudos to the author because I'm loving this series There is never a dull moment in this story and the ending always leaves me wanting more. I wish there was a little more romance or special moments between Amaya and Kai but right now I'll take what I can get. There is a traitor among the group and when it was revealed who it was, I was not surprised. Amaya ends up stuck in a world she never wanted to return to again but with the appearance into that world brings both old and new friends along with dangerous threats. Amaya has to not only save herself, but she now has a few more friends' worth saving. There was a situation that happened with Amaya that had me saying not again but I loved the twist the author threw into that part of the story. I'm definitely looking forward to listening to the next book in this series.

Demons, Betrayals, and Other Nasty Things

Another great story in the series! I loved the twists at the end! They were incredible!
I liked how Amaya had more hurdles to go through in this story and she was able to make some more friends along the way.
Cassie's direction in this story was a nice development compared to some of the previous books in this series. She's still not my favorite, but she's growing on me. I'm still holding book one against her.
There's some swearing, violence (not gory), and a sweet romantic scene between Amaya and Kai.

I loved the narrator! It's been the same one for the series and she has done another fantastic job with all the voices! I listened at 1.15x speed.

scream worthy

Listening to Shadows and Monsters while working in the yard made for much easier work. Right up to 25 minutes left in the book and my headphones died. I let out a scream that was worthy of stumbling across an Ulfer. My husband looked at me like I had lost my mind as I scrambled up and ran (ok so walked quicker than normal). The car it was, I had to hear Amy finish the book. She never fails to deliver.

Loved it!! Couldn’t stop listening till it was do e

I absolutely loved reading the books but there is just something to listening to books that bring the characters alive. Amy Hall is outstanding in her narration. When you have a story that just reals you in with a narrator you can’t stop listening to the outcome is a series that is too good to put down until it’s finished.

Amazing!

This is an amazing story and performance! I read the book first. This usually means the audiobook suffers in comparison. Not here! It was as if the author reached into my imagination, conferred with the narrator, and brought the experience to life! I cannot recommend this strongly enough. Just listen.

Hard to Put This Series Down

This is the 3rd book in this series. If you like sci-fi and paranormals, this series is for you. It is an easy listening, fast paced, well developed series where our young female heroine finds out she is half witch and half demon. In each of the books we discover more about her past and those that are after her. Some fear her. Some think she does not belong. It is important to start with the first book and read in order to get the most out of this series. (It follows a time line). The author has done very well in developing each character throughout the series and their backgrounds which adds to the storyline. (Each character has a different paranormal gift and they learn to develop their gifts in this special prep school). Each book shows promise in how our main heroine is learning to control and utilize her “other self”. I can foresee in future books how the author could take us to greater adventures. I am hoping there are several more books to this series and have enjoyed the storyline. The narration is superb!
