Great second book in the series Haley recommend if you’re starting here go back to the first book. It’s not necessary, but it gives you a little more information an insight to some of the storyline in this book. very good I love the Christian and faith based message of always leaning into God through hard circumstances and through prayer. Good story, good mystery highly recommend.!!!

Loved the story! Audiobook version was pretty good

Wow! Shadowed Witness kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! This thrilling romantic suspense had a compelling mystery, sympathetic main characters, a sweet romance, & a light faith thread woven throughout.

Allye Jessup’s a talented photographer who believes she witnessed a murder. When one of the attackers sees her, he comes after her, but when she comes to after being attacked, she’s found by the mayor who suggests she fell down her steep stairs, hit her head, & imagined the murder. Allye’s convinced she saw something & has marks on her neck to prove it. But, with constant migraines & a foggy memory, could she have imagined it? She seeks out her friend Detective Eric Thornton for help, but with no real evidence to back up her claim, the case stalls until the killer sets his sights on her again.

This story was intense! Both Allye & Eric have difficult issues to overcome. Eric’s in the middle of a drug investigation which brings up painful memories from his past. Allye’s struggling with a mysterious illness & trying to prepare for her photography showing at the local fair. I loved their romance as they share their struggles & work to find the killers.

I loved the fast paced mystery with lots of twists & turns. At first, Allye appears to be an unreliable narrator. Did she imagine a murder, or is she being gaslit & why? I was on pins & needles wondering if/when the killer would strike next. Her health issues also ratcheted up the intensity especially when she most needs her wits about her. There are a slew of suspects & it was challenging to figure out who the killer was. The surprising, action packed ending had me quickly turning the pages!

I listened to the audiobook version & it was pretty good. The narrator did a good job bringing this story to life. I would have liked a little bit more distinction between characters, but it was still easy to listen to.

Highly recommend to inspirational romantic suspense fans! Though part of a series, I easily read it as a standalone, but look forward to reading the previous book. 4.5 stars!

Oh I love this author. I’m sad that we don’t have any more books by her such a good story with so many twists, etc. I loved it.
