Secrets can't hide in daylight....
Hudson, Valen, Sylvain, and Marcus revealed their secret to Briar Hale, and she astonished them. The four vampires hadn't expected her to handle their revelation so easily, but Briar is a scientist and recognizes there are all manner of creatures in the world - some benign, some predatory, and some, like the brothers' maker, pure evil.
Caught in Asher's sights, Briar fights not only to stay alive, but to stay sane. Asher is in her head, whispering doubts and bringing to light her vampires' hidden pasts. He shows her everything - every bloody, terrible, heart-wrenching moment.
But she is stronger than Asher and the horrors stalking her vampires. Briar loves them, and she won't give them up, nor will she let them give up on each other.
With war on the horizon, Briar, Hudson, Valen, Sylvain, and Marcus will have to fight Asher and the secrets threatening to rise up and destroy them.

Good story but still a little slow

It was very nice to read a reverse harem not full of xrated scenes!

Intriguing

Ripley Proserpina doesn’t just write—she whispers forbidden forest secrets into your brain while you’re distracted by the hot, brooding dudes with complicated pasts and the one girl who somehow doesn’t combust under the collective weight of their tension. It’s a reverse harem with angst, magic, and possibly a sentient shrubbery named Regret. (Okay, I made that last one up… or DID I?)
Our heroine, who I assume eats glitter for breakfast and has trauma-fueled clairvoyance powers, stumbles into a situation so dangerous and sexy it might as well have been choreographed by a coven of seductive botanists. The thorns? Sharp. The secrets? Thornier. The men? Allergic to shirts, apparently.
Reading this book was like waking up in a mystical garden with amnesia, five hot strangers, and the overwhelming urge to touch something you definitely shouldn’t. The prose? Lush. The vibes? Feral. The romantic tension? Enough to power a small, emotionally repressed village.
Would I recommend Shadow of Thorns? Only if you’re prepared to fall in love with fictional men who communicate exclusively through smoldering glances and cryptic warnings, and a story that slaps you in the face with plot twists and then kisses it better.
10/10. Would be hexed by these characters again.
