Publisher's summary

Anna: Finds herself in Abilene without money, or a place to go. Lucy hires Anna to clean her "boarding house," which Anna discovers later is not what it seems. She has only one other option when Lucy offers her a job working upstairs - accepting Billy's offer.

Billy: Graduated from a seminary, but the church won't hire a single minister. He needs a wife, and he needs one quickly. He and Anna strike up an agreement. But - can they live within its confines?

Clean and sweet Christian romance. All books in the Shadow series can be listened to as standalone. They revisit previous characters, but each story is different.

Great read

Shadow of Love by Barbara Goss was a great read. The Shadow series is another must read by Barbara Goss. Anna is iin Abile e with no where to go and finds herself at what she thought was a boarding house. Billy is looking for a wife as the church won't hire him without being married. This is a great read that I loved reading.

Interesting Theme

A most enjoyable story with a very interesting theme about a two people who have found religion and how, when it is understood and applied correctly, they are able to live their lives well according to the teachings.
Other characters have been brought into this story from other stories in this series and they all play a good supporting role and help this new couple.
As usual, a very interesting and enjoyable story which has been nicely narrated by Jeff Moon and I am happy to recommend it.
The audiobook version was provided by the author at no cost and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Recommended for historical romance readers

If you could sum up Shadow of Love in three words, what would they be?

I recommend it.

Any additional comments?

My favorite in the series, so far. I made the mistake of beginning this book last night after
finishing Book 4 in this series. As one might guess, I couldn't put it down until I finished
it about 2:30 a.m. Great job by Ms Goss and narrator Jeff Moon. Now I'm on to Book 6! I'm really enjoying this series.

Shadow of Love

Another Sweet Romance written by Barbara Goss.

An unusual agreement between Billy and Anna allows them to both get something they want. But will they stick to their agreement?

The Best!!!

Annie finds herself in a terrible situation and needs to earn money. What she thinks is just cleaning rooms ends up in a bawdy house and she just cannot do what they really want. Billy rescues her because he needs a wife to get the job as pastor. Such a wonderful story and the narrator brought it to life!

Shadow of Love

I have enjoyed this series, so far. I like the characters. This book is about Billy, the brother of Julia and Miles. It was nice to revisit with characters that we know. Anna is a new character and Billy was in book 2. I also liked that Dora was able to turn her life around and get a HEA.

Billy's Story!

Billy showed up briefly in a previous Shadow book and I was excited to hear this story. After returning from seminary, Billy realizes that getting a job as a pastor as an unmarried man might be a bit tough. His solution was to find a sweet and innocent girl not known at the church and marry her, but to keep that marriage in name only. Anna was new to town, came from a rough background and was happy to take Billy up on his offer since it would keep her from selling her charms at the "boarding house" for ladies. Except can they keep their relationship simply a marriage of convenience?
Great listen as Billy and Anna figure out exactly what they want from life and their relationship. I enjoyed the clean romance and the Christian theme through the story.
Highly recommended listen!

Great book

I had an unexpected chance to try out a new author, Barabara Goss.

This a Christian based book with moderate to heavy religious themes. I really liked the plot of this book. the characters were well developed. Even tho this is 5th in the series, I was not lost with secondary characters or their storyline. You can read this book alone. I am looking forward to reading others in the series, especially Julia's.

Shadow of Love

Shadow of Love
: Barbara Goss

Book 5 in this series. A young couple that met and married as a marriage of convinence evolves as the story develops. William has reasons for wanting a platonic relationship. Anna has her own reasons. Characters from previous book make appearences. This is an interesting concept.
There are a few surprising twists that keep the listener guessing.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Jeff Moon voiced this book well.
