What an eye-opener
I wasn't overly familiar with this topic before listening to this book, and wow was it enlightening. Everyone has a shadow self, and everyone should listen to this book to learn how to accept it and grow. It's hard to get to where you want to be in life if you aren't aware of what's sabotaging or holding you back. Do yourself a favor and get a copy of this book. You'll feel like you've leaped 10 years into the future of self-growth! Highly recommend.

Understanding and Accepting All of Yourself
This book helps you discover all of yourself and accept yourself. I have heard the term "shadow self" and I always thought that meant the bad part of you. But this book explains what it really means beautifully. It is easy to suppress aspects of yourself that you don't like or behaviors you wish you didn't have. Getting to the bottom of why we do what we do, understanding the ego, then learning to love and accept ourself to have real happiness. I have been on a self help journey and this book puts it all together. I have had the same problems and issues come up for many years now and I never understand why I keep doing the same annoying things over and over. The exercises given in this book I plan to incorporate into my life. Gives me hope to be a better me, and love and accept myself better. Excellent book.

Fascinating!!!
I got utterly consumed with this book, it is incredibly fascinating. When you stop and think about everything presented to you in this book it is really is undeniable; there are two of each of us. There is the part we all know and then the "driver" lurking in the shadows and absolutely controlling the dynamics of your life. By acknowledging this and working on the issues beneath the surface you can absolutely bring significant change to your life.

Key to Self-Discovery
I listened to the prior book and loved it. I loved this one as well. I had already implemented some of the tips and suggestions from the first book, so I wasn't sure if this one could add to my repertoire. I was pleasantly surprised at the key elements contained in this book that polish that which I was already doing.
Actually, have conversations with yourself is one way to search your own inner self. That produces self-cleansing, and I think perhaps that is the one thing I practice daily. It does give me a feeling of worth, and determination. That, in turn, makes me more productive, actually enjoying tasks I prior felt mundane.

Know Thyself
Jane Kennedy has done an excellent job of explaining the fact that there really are two yous. The one you know and the one lurking under the surface causing many of your perplexing reactions to life situations. In her audiobook, nicely narrated, she explains reasons for some of your uncontrolled reactions or thoughts. She also explains how to meet the person within and become integrated with it and become friends, so that your conscious, everyday life leaves the negative behind and thrives in a positive world and attitude. There are great, easy-to-understand explanations of how and why this other you exist and then how to get an in-depth understanding of that other you and bring it to the surface. This is a wonderful book to lead you on a path of self-exploration and integration. Highly recommended.

Defragmenting the Self!

Great explanation about the shadow self
Last year I read another book about shadow work for the first time, and left a little bit confused. However, Jane Kennedy's audiobook makes this topic clear and accessible. I finally understand the archtypes that Jung labeled and how they are a part of us that are best embraced rather than repressed. I also am finally starting to understand what is going on when I occasionally lash out in a way that is very uncharacteristic when a particular trigger occurs. Now that I understand, I will be able to avoid overreacting in the future. Very helpful!
