Acerca de esta escucha
Ninth-grader BJ Maki knows there is an evil presence on a killing spree in the hills above his Lake Superior home. And, thanks to strange messages he has been receiving, he knows that the Red Hand Warrior can help protect his family and community. But what he doesn't know until he climbs out of a mysterious cave is that the warrior he is supposed to find lives five hundred years in the past.
An audacious coming of age tale across cultures and time. Has the voice of Vision Quest.
Will Weaver, author of Memory Boy and Power & Light

Great reading of a terrific story!
This fast-past story brought me right back to Minnesota‘a north woods and all the Ojibwe culture, stories, and language that so captured my heart. It surprised and delighted me!

Impressive debut!
What a wonderful young adult novel from first-time published author Robert Saxton. Delightful and unexpected plot turns. Read by the author who obviously has great acting skills

Great book!
First off, the author does an amazing job narration. He brings all of his characters to life, and I could tell he has personal investment in each one. I really enjoyed the ambiguity of the main character's race. It was a bit obvious that he is white, but as the story progressed I started to wonder if maybe he actually is Native, because of the relationships. Perhaps the author wanted to show that we are all connected like kin, regardless of race. The story was entertaining and awkward, like a typical teenage experience, and there was a delightful dose of magical realism. The author's description of tracking was very enlightening, and I have found myself looking at the ground in a different way. I even tracked goose footprints in the sand on the Oregon coast to find the exact spot where an eagle landed with the goose in its talons. Very fun. Can't wait for the next book!
