You can only cheat death so many times before it lays claim to your soul.

Annora thought the worst that could happen was behind her...until it's discovered that her blood carries the cure to death. Now people will go to any extreme to get their hands on her. Instead of escaping her past, she ends up dragging her guys into hell with her.

When one of her men is taken, her world comes crashing down. Her psychic connection to him is the only thing keeping him alive - barely. To get him back, she must turn herself over to the enemy, knowing she would be facing a lifetime of slavery.

Determined not to go down without a fight, Annora and her men train for the coming war, taking risks that could cost them everything. She must embrace her phantom heritage if she is to have any hope of keeping her mates safe. The only problem...other phantoms would rather kill her than allow the secrets of their magic to become exposed.

Contains mature themes.

I love this book series I have relistened to them again and again. I enjoy the characters and the storyline it is superb. The story just grabs you and pulls you right in. You feel like a character in the story at times. Almost like you"re right there with Annora and her men. I will probably relisten again at some point.

Will relisten again and again

Lots going on so many rules for each species. I recommend this series. I’ll be getting the next installment.

I loved the storyline in this book. This author builds such amazing worlds in her books. I was a big fan of the narrator when she did the male voices, I had a hard time distinguishing which ones were speaking if I wasn't paying a lot of attention to keep track of which male character was talking. I like how she did the female character but just not the males because there wasn't enough variety between them in my opinion. But I loved the storyline

Loved this book!

Read it don't listen to it! Curiosity kept me in the story. I really loved the unique characters and Anora's tenacity. The story was a different premise for me. It moved along smoothly but the narrator was VERY monochromatic and it felt like a child was reading. There was not warmth or emotion it was all very flat and I ended up speeding it up to 1.5 to finish the story because by the 3rd book I just couldn't stand the narrator anymore. You couldn't tell the characters apart and I had to backtrack frequently to see who was speaking. SO DISAPPOINTED! Her narration really made me struggle to finish and if I didn't think it would penalize the author I would return all 3. I love to relisten to stories but this is a one and done. I will never purchase another book by this narrator again. Such a let down to what could have been a fun ride.

terrible narrator good story

In book 2 Annora is still trying to understand her life while hiding from her brutal uncle and father. Yes, Annora is still developing relationships with her men (reverse haram) and they're all different creatures so it makes each mates personality different...with different strengths and/or powers.

When one of Annora's men is kidnapped and tortured by her uncle, Annora needs to rescue him before he is broken beyond repair all while keeping the book her mother left her safe while the local witch population seek to steel it and use Annora for their own purposes.
