How steamy is it? Hot Damn

Publisher's Summary

Luke Wilder knows the lovely stranger doesn't belong the second she struts into his sleepy little town. She's a city girl who won't stay longer than it takes to get her fancy foreign car repaired - which is why he should ignore his powerful need to make her notice him. It's just that the moment she opens her smart mouth and gives it back as good as she gets, he wants to swap a whole lot more with her than insults.

Charlotte Freemont instantly dislikes the rude, redneck stranger she finds herself stuck with. Too bad he's as hot, and as tempting, as sin. On the run from her messy past, she's not there to get tangled up with a man, even one as hard to resist as the hotheaded Luke. But when he gives her a private tour of his craft whiskey distillery, their attraction ignites and Luke seizes the chance to show her there's a whole lot more to him than rough and rugged.

When he finally learns her secret, will it shatter his trust in her? Or do they have a chance to create a whole new blend?

A sizzling, enemies-to-lovers romp with bite.

Sweet story!

Socialite runaway bride meets small town good old boy in this audiobook by Kendall Ryan. I enjoyed listening to this story and the narration was well performed. The heroine has been controlled by her wealthy parents all her life and jilts her fiancé (chosen by her parents) at the altar. On the run from New York to LA, she has car trouble in a small town in Texas where she meets the hero. While waiting for her expensive car to be fixed, they start an affair and her priorities and thinking changes. He's phobic about city women and she has to get him to realize that they fit. While not the most original story, this was a good book to listen to.

Just Ok

I kinda liked this book. I didn't dislike it and I didn't exactly love it. Its your typical rich girl stumbles upon a small town and falls for the hottest guy in town. Charlotte made a lot of assumptions about the people in the town, but got mad when people made correct assumptions about her. She tried to act like she wasn't a spoiled rich girl when that's exactly what she was. I never really warmed up to her. I did like Luke and he set Charlotte straight. Of course they start a romance over the span of a week. Their relationship is mostly sexual and they never talk about anything that really matters or got to know each other really well. I also didn't like the fact that Charlotte wanted Luke to pretty much ask/beg for her to stay, but because he didn't, she left. That was super dumb and ridiculous and made me want to slap both of these characters.

So this book was ok. I'm not a big fan of this storyline in any book so I was probably turned off a bit right away. This book isn't all that long, so I shouldn't have expected all that much from the relationship. Sexy Stranger is just alright.

A flirty romance!

Two things/names, that drew my attention to this book: Kendall Ryan and Sebastian York. Kendall tends to write the most satisfying Contemporary romances and Sebastian York is one of my top favorite audio book narrators. This performance did not disappoint!

The opening scene caught my consideration. The quick witted teasing banter of the initial meeting of the Hero and Heroine hooked me into wanting to know how their story would play out. The following scenes depicting strong family values and endless flirting made me smile. And I especially appreciated the whiskey tasting references (I'm a whiskey lover myself), and of course I had to pour myself a glass while listening.

Told in dual POV - my favorite - gave this story more dimension than if I read the kindle/paperback alone.

In all, a great listen that you won't regret downloading!

Reminded me of an Andy Griffith episode

It was a sweet, steamy listen. A too busy New York socialite lands in a small Texas town with car problems. Oh what's a girl to do? She gets lucky when she meets a handsome Texan. Great narration! Only reason for one star dropped is the short listen. I enjoy catching up on these short listens while on the Romance package.

I'm a new fan

This was an excellent book. The story reminded me of the Doc Hollywood movie. Still a great story. Just a different twist than the Michael J. Fox story. You can't go wrong with Sebastian York and Ava Erickson. Loved this listen.

The Voice Speak to me

Would you listen to Sexy Stranger again? Why?

don't think so ... maybe bits and pieces ... not the whole story though.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Luke ... there is always something that pulls me in when a character is named Luke ... it started with Luke Perry ... what can I say. girlie giggles!! ( ;

Have you listened to any of Ava Erickson and Sebastian York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I know Sebastian ... Ava is new to me ... I will look more into her though. I appreciate or enjoy them together.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This statement is always hard for me ... Kendall Ryan's books are always hot and heavy. lots of steam. ( ;
