Kinder and Gentler Times?
I was enjoying this southern romantic suspense novel up right until Alabama-raised Mac stated that he wished for the kinder and gentler times of 200+ years ago. Seriously?
Mac went on and on about this amazing ancestors who build their plantation in the early 1800s, skipping right over the part that his family only grew rich due to slave labor. Mac also kept referring to his black servants as part of the family, without acknowledging that his ancestors actually owned their ancestors.
While I realize that this is not a documentary on southern American history, I expected some basic turths, not a complete white washing regarding the harsh realities of slavery. For people of color during the 1700s and 1800s in Alabama, life was anything but kind and gentle.

A Southern Charm
Absolutely loved this book! Stayed up all night to finish it because I could not put it down. Beautiful romance with a little bit of suspense thrown in. I highly recommend this book.

ok story, but production needs work
You needed a producer to coordinate the two performers parts (Sam & Mack) i.e., crossing over between the "parts" so that each male character in either part sounded the same and each female character sounded the same for continuity of ALL characters between the parts. BTW, women naturally do better children's voices...just saying.

Completely in love with this book
I got 2 chapters in, and instantly looked up to see if they had more books in a series. And yes they do! It’s absolutely amazing I love this story line. Made me feel like I was listening to a favorite movie and picturing it scene by scene in my head. Definitely listening to the rest of the series!!

I will return this one
I really dont like how female writers write a male character, specially on romance novels, it always pulls me out of my reading to think about how "thats not what a guy would do/say"
The story was ok I guess but what the male character says, does and how he acts its just not realistic at all.
I also hate it when there are kids in the story and the narrator makes that weird whiny voice.
I will end up returning this one.
