Publisher's summary

The 40th anniversary edition of the best-selling Tarot classic.

Rachel Pollack’s Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom inspired a whole generation of Tarot students. Often referred to as the "Bible of Tarot books", it is a landmark book that helped launch today’s Tarot renaissance. Drawing on mythology and esoteric traditions and delving deeply into the symbolism and ideas of each card, the book offers a modern psychological interpretation of the tarot archetypes rather than a system of esoteric symbolism.

The Greatest Tarot book ever written.

This was the first serious book on tarot I ever read. It changed my life. Rachel is also one of the kindest and most intelligent humans on the planet. Happy to be able to listen to this great classic on the go!

The Tarot Bible

I’ve been searching Audible for over three years hoping to one day find this book available here. I’ve read this book numerous times but I find that with each read, I discover additional hidden wisdom. Rachel Pollack covers all the bases here, beginning with Tarot history, moving to meanings/interpretations of the individual cards, then finally to Tarot spreads and using the cards in a reading. The Major Arcana is studied first, then the Minor Arcana is covered a suit at a time. Her ability to relate the Tarot to the Archetypes and the Tree of Life brings even deeper meaning to the cards. If you are yearning to delve deep into the Tarot and even deeper into yourself, please read Rachel Pollack’s Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom.

The Way She Thinks

I loved the way she read it, the speed of her voice, her broad and open perspective, and the way she talks about every different point of view but puts it together so we understand it as one. Truly incredible! On my second round listening.

Definitely a "pick me up"

I enjoyed this book as a newcomer to the tarot. Rachel Pollack has done a wonderful job clearing a lot of questions I had in regards to the tarot. I love the included interview as a bonus from Audible even though it was a little tough to understand some words since she was using a regular phone and not a microphone. Highly recommend to all beginners of tarot. I can't speak for the others who have experience, but I'm sure some insights shared may be of benefit as it isn't only intended for beginner minds. Although that's a great trait to live by when it comes to learning.

I really enjoyed this book and learned a lot. It was not what I was expecting at all.

this book has me wanting to go back and look at the work of William Blake, more closely, as well as see what I can learn from Gustave Moreau

Best Book for beginning Tarot

I was lost by Crowley and similar writers, no matter how patient I studied them. Rachel Pollack's 78 Degrees of Wisdom gave me the grasp I was looking for. Follow up with Jung and Tarot by Sallie Nichols.
Then Mary K Greer and maybe Joan Bunning
The Audible book allows one to review any card quickly even in the middle of a reading, too.
