I was captivated from the very beginning

Fantastic! Alistair, Jessica, Michael and Hester are amazing characters and make it possible for this book to have an amazing lesson about love. Sylvia Day just wrote one of the best historical erotic romances of the year.

We follow the story of Alistair and Jessica since their very spicy moment before Jessica gets married and their re encounter after her husband's death.

At the same time we hear about Hester, Jessica's sister, and Michael's relationship. These secondary characters are so lovable! We fall in love with Alistair's charisma and charm - he's a rake after all- and also Jessica's strength and courage.

The final twist was a surprise and what I liked most about Seven Years To Sin is that it's never late to love and overcome our past. The author also approaches physical abuse towers women, what's their role in the society, their financial independence and the married life. All of them treated with honesty and truth.

The problems the hero and heroine have to go through are very real and the story is full of burning hot scenes. I would love, love, love to read more about Hester, and we might get it. If you've read it and feels the same way, show it! Speak up!

Imogen Church was fantastic with the delivery of the story.

Absolutely brilliant

I’ve read most of Sylvia Day’s books and really enjoy her excellent writing and ability to tell a detailed story without allowing it to stagnate. The performance was excellent also and allowed the reader to become immersed in the story.

Pleasant, enjoyable read/listen

Would you consider the audio edition of Seven Years to Sin to be better than the print version?

N/A

Who was your favorite character and why?

All characters in this book are given equal attention to detail, resulting in you being able to relate to their characteristics. In particular the side story of Hester, the main characters sister allows different angles of enjoyment and keeps you wanting to know where the story is going. Hesters story, mixed with Jess` prevents the `historic` novel becoming predictable.

Have you listened to any of Imogen Church’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I am a new user of audible, so am yet to establish my personal preferences of performer/narrated. In my opinion, Imogens performance was pleasant and helped to focus on feelings and expressions. I enjoyed listening to her throughout the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The harsh reality of Jess being Barron, and societies expectations, helps to set the scene beautifully. It was nice to have a read where there were no victims involved, no-one timid or with huge sob stories in their past. Silvia Day has made a great effort to ensure no sympathy is felt for Jess once having a happy marriage.

Any additional comments?

This book may not be as modern or raunchy as some readers prefer, however I feel this is appropriate given the era and science intended. I enjoyed the book and would recommend to others. Silvia Day has a great style and it Is portrayed throughout thus beautifly written novel.

A story to fall in love with

I'm not normally into period books, but these are characters I got lost in. It's a beautiful story of true love, and how it prevails. Perfect book for all you hopeless romantics.

A bit jumpy but a good story

This was my first book by this author, I will read more of her work in the future. I enjoyed this book however I did find it a bit jumpy from one set of characters story to another, it took me a while to get used to it but once I was more familiar with the characters it didn’t bother me too much.

This is why I love Sylvia Day

I have read many of Sylvia Days books. This is up there with the best of them. It started a little slow but as soon as it gripped me it continued to grip me until the end. I loved the characters and the saucy scenes were very well done. I love period dramas, so I doubly enjoyed this book. It has spurred me on to now read her Georgian books x

Repetitive

The prose is wonderful but it seemed quite disconnected from who the characters are. Despite repetition regarding those characters, they remain oddly out of touch and one dimensional; dry and rather boring.

A shame, given how well Ms Day writes but I need better characterisation to enjoy a story
