Wonderful second book in a great series

I seriously just love these books. Again, I listened to this one with my 3 kids in the truck and all of us loved it. The start of it with the captured creature was funny. I love how close the character are (yes, even Eric). I did want to see more of what happened with Bryant's dad's reaction but I figure there will be more in future books.

The narrator did a great job with the characters' voices again. Love hearing them and the romance between Bryant and Elizabeth is cute. I think my favorite character may be Devon. I just love how he is with the ones he cares for. He is ready to literally leap to their defense. Great series.

5/5

Just keeps getting better!

This series just keeps getting better and better! I’ve been pulled into Bryant’s world and I’m anxious to see what’s in store for him and what this means for his girlfriend Elizabeth who’s a seer and his best friend Devon known among the magical as an adventurer. Both Bryant and Elizabeth are honing their gifts. Devon wonders where he fits in through all of it. Thrust into the world of magic, they’re all finding their way with the help of Eric who has taken them all on as their mentor. Together they take on The Ladies to change the way magic is accessible. Another battle will ensue, but who will come out the victor?!

The narrator did a great job capturing the awkwardness of Bryant’s character. As well as Devon’s suave confidence and Elizabeth’s no nonsense take charge attitude.

Nutty McDragon

seriously I laughed so hard at that line and whole scene. where does she come up with these anecdotes???

the narrator, if I haven't said it before, is really too perfect for this series. Bryant is sort of a shy geeky nerd and Jacob nails it perfectly.
Story takes place a few weeks later. it starts where bryant has to find his magical mess ups and contain them. enter nutty mcdragon. seriously so want one just so I can call it that.

new villain in this book. the sisters are still present but they take a backseat to the real bad guy. Bryant and company has to figure out who created and sent the witch hunter out to get him and his friends. Not only does he have to worry about magical catastrophic events -- but also his parents want to ship him off to boarding school. In another country. All with the pretense of keeping him safe.
after discovering who wants him dead, a trek to find the magical library ends up being a bit of disaster. but really any adventures with Eric is going to end up this way even though Eric is suave -- Bryant is too much of a nerd to be cool and collective.
glad the series is continuing on with small variations in the plot instead of the same storyline over and over again. I hope every new book brings on a new adventure for for BFF trio and their illustrious leader.

Fun ride!

The story was so much fun! This series is just getting better and I can’t wait to see what else will happen in the series. I love getting to know more about this world and these characters. I didn’t want to stop listening from the moment I started. Bryant, Elizabeth, Eric, and Devon hav a lot to do and they are such fun characters to get to know more about. The action takes off pretty quickly and once it started I didn’t want it to stop!

Fun ride!

The second installment follows Bryant, Elizabeth, Devon and Eric. The aftermath of what happened still follows Bryant and he continues to learn the wizardly world and how to wrangle the crazy creatures he created. The plot thickens when a witch hunter tries to abduct Bryant and the fun begins! Jam packed full of action, magical spells, and friends who stick together no matter what.
The audiobook is narrated by Jacob McNatt, and he does a wonderful job portraying all of the characters. Very easy to follow along. If you enjoy YA fantasy and magical books then I highly recommend this series.
