Publisher's Summary

Without doubt, Judy was the worst of the seven, probably because she was the cleverest. Judy's father, Captain Woolcot, found his vivacious, cheeky daughter impossible - but seven children were really too much for him, and most of the time they ran wild at their rambling riverside home, Misrule.

Step inside and meet them all: dreamy Meg and Pip, daring Judy, naughty Bunty, Nell, Baby, and the youngest - 'the General'. Come and share in their lives, their laughter and their tears.

Critic Reviews

"This is a children’s classic which can be revisited at any age, peopled as it is with strong, engaging and vivid characters. I recently reread my own beautifully-illustrated copy, and loved it as much as I had when I was 11 years old." (Sophia Barnes)

Classic Australian

A fun story (on the whole) brilliantly narrated. A look 100 years on from European settlement in Australia. The attitudes, social rules and standards. Regardless, the book stands the test of time.

Australian Classic

Adore the story grew up with it. However disappointed with the narration. unable to finish it.
When Judy dies surrounded by all the children in the outback brings me to tears. Father who was once played by Leonard Thiele , Is really a deep compassionate man wanting control of his large boisterous brood. This is a great story for all ages.
