Extremely disappointed

As a Iyanifa, I look for literature that I can refer people to, so they can get basic information. This was bad. The pronounciations of the Orisha's names were wrong. it was constant misinformation. i wouldn't refer this book to anyone. I understand that people want to write about the tradition, but if you do, you have a responsibility to provide correct information.

Just NO!

This has got to be one of the worst I have heard! The pronunciation and annunciation of the Orisha names is utterly wrong and disrespectful! The information in the book is half correct. We can find out more by googling the information in this book. Ridiculous!

Disappointed

The narrator had a calming voice which kept me engaged. Unfortunately, I learned more about the Orishas through Google searches than with this underwhelming presentation. There was no depth to this and most chapters are under 3 minutes. It simply didn't do them justice.

Words have power!

The narrator's pronunciation of the Orisha called Shango was off a little. The "a" in Shango should be pronounced like the "a" in Father and not like the "a" in ant. Sound is important and words have power. As a result my rating was low.
Thanks for presenting this work.

Give it honor or leave it be!

Couldn't get pass the first 10 minutes with the mispronunciation of the Orisha. It's a shame!

HOPEFULLY THE NEXT BOOK IS MORE ACCURATE

I am disappointed to find out that this book wasn't giving out correct information, Spiritual work must be done correctly or really bad consequences can come from not performing it correctly. so take this book off of here before someone who is learning like myself but doesn't know enough hurt themselves or others. do better audible. I have several books in my cart and hope the next book that I am purchasing is better than this and I can learn and grow in my spiritual work and the learning of my ancestors, and also on working on my self. meditating and grounding myself i want to do it right and not be misinformed.

Great Listen

Loved it! Machelle did a phenomenal job narrating and Monique's break down made understanding and note taking easy.

it was okay.

I was looking for something more in depth. I had already learned most of this online at no cost.

This must be a joke!

This book had so many mistakes in it that if anyone was learning and repeated what was said here they would be laughed at like they were an idiot! I am a Cuban Sateria and can tell you that these descriptions are not correct. The names of the Orisha are not pronounced correctly and in the end it just sounds like a bad Cookbook!
Yemaja is known as Regla not regala! Regla means rules, she is not a Regalo a gift! Then it is Eleggua who opens the path, Oscosi that clears away the obstacles, and it is Ogun who works them out. Ogun is in the Earth and works 24/7. Oscosi is in the woods, he is a Hunter, and also clears the path in the woods after Ellegua opens it.
They are known as The Warriors and they have to be fed animal sacrifices in order to work for you and this is why you have to be initiated in order to know what sacrifices they require.

This Orisha is real, and it's not like Christians who may church. if you come to them incorrectly you can have serious consequences!
please don't listen to this Author I think they just wanted to make money! And I just wasted a credit!
