Publisher's Summary

She’s a waitress with no room for distractions. He’s a prince wishing for a simpler life. Is there any hope for a happily ever after?

Julie Winters’ life is simple: work and college. Her five-year life plan doesn’t allow for detours of any kind, and that includes no dating. With her family counting on the money she makes from her tips at the lodge, Julie is serious about her responsibilities. She definitely won’t let a man distract her, even when he looks like Max, a guest from Europe.

But when Julie’s old car breaks down, the mysterious Max is the one to rescue her. And when she needs an archery tutor, Max volunteers for the job. Soon, they’re spending time together, and Julie likes it. Maybe a little too much.

Prince Maximilian Wolfe is in the US to look for investors, not to find a girlfriend. His friend Prince Henry likes to go clubbing, but Max prefers the simple things. When he meets Julie at the restaurant where she works, he’s immediately intrigued by her beautiful brown eyes. Julie is different and genuine, and Max looks for ways to spend more time together.

There’s only one problem - Julie doesn’t know Max is a prince.

Sweet, clean romance

3.5 stars

An enjoyable escape from reality- I didn’t want the story to end! Quite a short book, so not a huge time commitment.

Good character development, given the fact that this is a novella. I really liked both the H and the h and was cheering for them.

Well-written and we’ll-read! The voice artist did a very good job keeping Max’s accent subtle.

I look forward to more books by this author!

A sweet and clean romance that leaves you smiling!

I have always loved a Cinderella style story and this one really touched me because Max was so sweet and chivalrous to Julie. The narration was excellent and drew me in to the story right from the start!

Fabulous royal & commoner story!

~I have read and listened to this story and loved it both times! The narrator was great!~

This book was such a fun royal/commoner story to read. It was a pretty fast read and the two main characters had some great moments together as well as their own personal moments. I really liked the way their personalities and goodness.

Julie is the main character. Can I say that it's a mixture of shock and excitement to read a book where the main character has your same name? It was pretty fun, but I'd be reading along and Prince Max would say my name "Julie," in dulcet tones and I'd be like whoa! Ok, not really, but it was fun to say that. What's been even more fun is that in the last three books I've read, there have been characters with my name. How cool is that? I thought it was great. <3

Prince Maxim and Julie had me cheering them on. Their story in this novella was just straight forward and sweet. It is a novella so not a lot of time to really delve into everything. But even with the limited amount of pages, I felt that the author did a great job creating a friendship/relationship between these two. Then causing a bit of angst and a resolution. And I have fabulous news...this story is not the end of Julie and Max! Yay! I wanted more of their story when I came to the end of the book, but the author said that there will be more for Max and Julie.

Sweet story

This is a very simple girl meets prince kind of story. Feels like a little TV movie. Max is pretty adorable and I thought the narrator did a good job using a slower and precise voice for him. Nothing big really happens, totally predictable, but sometimes a bit of fluff is exactly what is needed!

A surprisingly good story

I will not summarize this story because it is already given in the description of this book. The purpose of this review is to give potential readers information to make an informed decision about reading/listening to this book. This is a very well done, short novella.

What engaged me:

• I liked Prince Max. He was truly a good guy, which he demonstrated through his kindness and thoughtfulness. Max just wanted to be accepted for who he was.
• Julie was trying to be self sufficient, so no one would hurt her, let her down, or take advantage of her. It was hard for her to trust.
• The narrator did an excellent job in differentiating the various characters' voices. She had a pleasant voice to listen to.
• This was a clean story.

Truthfully, I thought I would not like this book. I thought I would not like a royal romance. I was definately wrong. In fact, I wanted to hear more about the romance between Julie and Max. I wanted to know if they would marry and if Julie could handle royal life.

I was given a free audiobook by the author. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. I will be listening to or reading more books by this author. I will also keep a lookout for books narrated by Raine Barrett.

A sweet, clean romance!

I listened to the audio version of this book.
This sweet, clean series of books is just delightful and Serving the Prince fits right in. Julie meets Max while serving drinks to him. They seem to hit it off right away, even though Julie isn't a very trusting person. She has no idea that Max is a prince...and he'd like to keep it that way for as long as possible.
The two of them are perfect together and the story is fun to read.

Modern day Cinderella story

Who doesn't love a Cinderella story--commoner meets handsome Prince who sweeps her off her feet, and they live happily ever after? Julie and Max (Prince Maximilian Wolfe, also Maxim) are a modern day Cinderella story.

Julie waits tables at a restaurant and is THIS close to getting her degree so she can't afford to be distracted by a handsome visitor from another country. Max is visiting the U.S. with his cousin and notices that Julie is different than most of the women they seem to attract.

I like how independent Julie is but she's also not too proud to accept a ride to work when her old car breaks down or she needs help in her archery class. I understood why Max didn't tell her he was a Prince--he wanted to just be Max, not Prince Maximilian Wolfe. I was afraid she was going to find out before he had a chance to tell her--it happens all. the. time. Thankfully they're able to work things out.

This is a novella so there's no time for the author to give a detailed background for everything, but I felt Lucinda Whitney did a wonderful job explaining why the two main characters are like they are. I love the dress on the cover and that Julie's friend and roommate made it for her. The upside to a novella is that it's short enough to listen to in a couple of hours or less, so it's a great escape for an afternoon. What's a better escape than a modern day Cinderella story? I think the narrator has a very pleasant voice and has done the narration for some of the other books in the series.

This is a novella (one of 3) introducing us to the new Royal Secrets series, This is a sweet clean romance.
