Acerca de esta escucha

Christine Collins is a decorated veteran, having served as a U.S. Air Force Captain and trauma nurse during a pivotal deployment to Afghanistan in 2009. Stationed at Bagram Air Base, she found herself at the epicenter of the conflict, tirelessly working to save the lives of American troops, Afghan civilians caught in the crossfire, and even enemy fighters.

Through her raw and poignant memoir, Christine unveils the physical and emotional toll of war, not just on those fighting but also on the medical personnel tasked with picking up the pieces. Her vivid accounts transport readers to the heart of the conflict, revealing both the horrors and the glimmers of hope that sustained her. After returning to the U.S., Christine grappled with the invisible wounds of war, finding solace in writing as a means to process her experiences and to shed light on the often overlooked challenges faced by veterans.

As a wife and mother of three daughters, Christine's journey of healing and self-discovery is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. By sharing her story, she hopes to foster a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by our service members and to inspire others to find strength in the face of adversity.

There is nothing I’d ever dislike about this memoir. It takes you to places you’ve never thought of. The writing makes you feel as if you were going through it with her. You feel connected to this great woman, just by finishing this book. She is hardworking and wholeheartedly committed to her mission. She is the bravest woman I know.

What an amazing story. I can't thank you enough for being an American hero caring for our American heroes. You gave so much of yourself to your patients. All were lucky to have you as their nurse.

Raw, real, and heartfelt.

Dang, there are so many emotions baked into this book. First of all, Thank You For Your Service and the professional care you provided for the wounded service members and Afghan people. You are a blessing to these people and an angel sent for a purpose. I hope you realize how much you are appreciated and will always be in the hearts of your patients. So heart felt blessings for being a light in what can be a dark place.

Great recording. Very clear and professionally produced. Every emotion came thru clear in your voice. Found myself crying throughout the book.
