Publisher's Summary

You want to live your life to the fullest without being afraid of what other people may think of your choices and decisions? You want to accept yourself for who you are while being completely focused on your positive sides, on your positive traits, and on your inner potential and strengths? You want to be an imperfectionist who lives fearlessly?

If you find yourself having these questions, you are definitely in the right place. Individuals who are perfectionists are more stressed out, more frustrated, and angrier, as every single failure they come across affects them deeply, even in cases when these failures are almost meaningless. On the other hand, being an imperfectionist means that you truly accept yourself with all of your positive and negative traits, that you focus on your positive traits without letting those negative traits stop you from succeeding in any way.

From this audiobook you will learn:

  • What are emotions and why they matter
  • How your emotions affect both your emotional and physical health
  • How to actually achieve and maintain your emotional well-being
  • What you gain when you become an imperfectionist
  • What is emotional health and what major factors are affecting your emotional health
  • How to love and respect yourself and how to embrace all of your imperfections
  • Setting specific goals and success motivations
  • And much, much more...

Get this book NOW, learn how to embrace your imperfections, boost your self-confidence, and finally live your life to the fullest!

Incredibly validating and empowering.

Must read for anybody recovering from the abuse of a narcissistic mother, regardless of what stage you're at in the recovery process. I read numerous books and watched hours upon hours of YouTube videos about healing from the abuse prior to listening to this book and thought I'd hear something similar to the rest but this one stands alone as one of the best!

It's what I really needed to hear

I was surprised that I have been dealing with this for years and never had any explanation for my mothers behavior. Thank you. Now to begin the healing,

Insightful

Loved it. The author has given voice and enlightenment to a delicate and taboo subject that needs to be culturally aired out for healing. i am grateful to find my own story within these pages and relieved. Some mothers just cant love. But we children, can keep our distance to heal ourselves and send them loving vibrations from afar.

Incredible, painful, real, life changing

Some parts were painfully familiar and stirred up a lot of unresolved feelings but after listening to this book I feel guilt-free, settled in my feelings, bold, and unexpectedly— loved. this book just saved me and my son.

Very clear

Forward lays out the territory clearly and gives straightforward instructions about how to work with it. She does a great job going back and forth between the big picture and specific examples. Even after working on this subject for decades in and out of therapy, and being a therapist myself, I found this book very helpful after a recent "drive by" by my mother. I wrote her an email that was very consistent with what Dr. Forward suggests and it was quite freeing and gave me the clarity and closure I needed.

Thank you David!

This book is great.
From the cover I thought I was getting something surface level.
What I got was a really beautifully written (and read), inspiring, moving, and thought provoking book that I didn’t want to stop listening to.
A mix of solid scientific knowledge with practiced techniques that make total sense, delivered in a gentle loving way. Brilliant. Everyone should read/listen to it!
I am so grateful to have found this, thank you so much for your gift, David.

This book helped me heal sciatica

Wonderfully narrated by David himself in his charming scottish accent. Brilliant stories to back up his points and it's laden with scientific evidence. I've been practicing the visualisation on my sciatic nerve and been practicing self compassion. It's absolutely working.... I've learnt so much and am able to give so much more now to my anti anxiety clients. I've been shouting about this book all over social media and hope to see him in the flesh one day.

I loved this book.Definitely boosted my self-love

Enjoyed the author’s accent too and his honesty; helped me to remember we all have similar insecurities and we’re all human.
Got a bit lost on why were are made of love though I certainly agree there is more to our existence than what we can see.
The one quote I can remember that I loved was “I am a rose whether I am admired or not.” :)

Very clear advice, great book

Some old ideas put in a new way which have now clicked into place for me, and some new fantastic viewpoints which are very enlightening.

Confidence Builder

Having suffered with depression my whole life, I finally found something that really helps (besides meds): hypnosis! Over time my mind fills up with negativity and defeat. That's when I put on my earphones and listen to Amy Applebaum. It's like a powerwash for my brain. Any of her hypnosis recordings help. Applesauce is my favorite. I feel like a normal, confident person after listening to just one track. The effect will last about a month.
