A very intelligent and honest book!!

Loved the book. Not for those who feel they have a inalienable right to not be offended by the inconvient truths in life. Better sack up before reading. Recommended reading for wusses, snowflakes and perpetual victims.My friend really likes reading books on philosophy. I gave this book to him for his birthday and he really enjoyed it.

Great inspiration for life long exercise!!

Really liked this book. Listed to it in combination with self disciplined dieter and daily discipline. Very inspiring. I've been using some of the techniques in each of these books and having some success!If you are disciplined & follow the suggestions/recommendations in this book, you will definitely achieve your short/long term goals.

using David Goggins name, but awful book


I bought this book because of the Goggins name, but you can tell there was no thought put into this book. It is as if the writer googled motivational quotes and stuffed them all in here. You will find ideas from all kinds of motivational scammers such as Napoleon Hill, as well as questionable studies citations. It was a waste of my time.

Very intuitive!!

I felt motivated the moment I started reading it and more so the further into the book it got. Highly recommended!Great book! Very motivating!I like that chapters are short. The book is contracted almost as lessons. I enjoyed it a lot!!!

Perfect guide book!!

This book helped me realize the source of my successes and failures. I was depending on situational vs. committed daily self-discipline.the finish of every section contained a visual cue rundown of the ideas secured with a snappy outline of each.Read and know how to propelled for him self!!

Riding on coattails of David Goggins

Purchased this book after finishing Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins. This book is just riding on his coattails & name recognition. It was nothing like his book and just a very basic self help narrative. The narrator sounded like a robot & I kept falling asleep listening.

Don’t waste your time & money on this one.

Excellent Listen for anyone with goal and dreams and want tools to achieve them. Now let’s get to work.All the wisdom of other seal authors, without the fluff. Please A practical little guide to being more productive. Very informative.

Poor Content, Substandard Narration

The content of the book is more the quality of a book report than an instructional, self-help work. It tells you what has happened, but falls short of giving the reader tangible, working tools to achieve it.

The narrator is almost painful to listen to. I’m not certain she understands how to use punctuation; her voice is robotic and feels like any punctuation at all can only be interpreted as a period. If you were to transcribe her narration, it would likely appear as something like this:

“This is an example. Of how the narrator sounds. When she reads. It is difficult. To follow the flow. Of the passage. When you’re not sure what the difference between a comma. A period. And a semicolon. Is.”

Disappointed

Full of general bla bla bla such as "work hard", "have discipline", "be motivated". no science or insight except one chapter on child psychology saying that you can't praise your child enough!
The narration is awful..it feels like being narrated by Siri. there are few good nuggets here and there but nothing that you don't already know. i feel i wasted my money. i wish i can get a refund.

Fantastic sound ideas to help keep you on top.

Everyone at some point in their lives could benefit from professional coaching to cut through the clutter and help them forge straight ahead toward what's important to them. It reminded me that I can approach my goals with a spirit of fun, and that I am in control of every step of the journey!!!

Good content but I couldn’t stick with the narration

The content is good, and I will get the paper copy as a result. I couldn’t continue listening to the narration though. It sounds like each sentence has been recorded, cut, and stitched together so there is no flow. It’s like having Alexa/Siri read it to you and I found it difficult to engage with as it quickly became monotonous.

Badly conceived, badly written, badly read

I realised quite early that this wasn't going to be a great book but I persevered until the end because I thought there were bound to be at least one or two useful take aways. I was wrong. If you've never read (or listened to) a book on personal development, this might contain a few good ideas to get you started but the truth is, it's just a bunch of ideas stolen from other personal development authors (Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, Og Mandino, Napoleon Hill etc) and regurgitated by the author in no particularly logical order. There's nothing in here that wasn't already written 20+ years ago by significantly better and more inspiring authors, other than the Navy Seal references, which were taken from guess who? In fact the only inspiring words were the regurgitated quotes by the aforementioned authors. It also contains the worst advice on how to stop smoking that I've ever heard (don't give up completely, just cut down by one a day until you've miraculously stopped completely), written by someone who has clearly never smoked a cigarette in her life. If you want to save yourself a troublesome read (spoiler alert) the key to everything is, apparently, "Just Do It". Hmmm where have I heard that slogan before? And as if the content wasn't uninspiring enough, the book was narrated (painfully slowly) by a deeply uninspiring narrator. I don't know where all the good reviews for this book came from because I'm quite an avid reader of personal development books (ok, I haven't quite reached the stage of not being able to criticise a poorly written book) and this is the worst I've ever come across by quite a wide margin.

Good guide.

​Self-Discipline is something I have always struggled with and is one of the most important parts of being successful. Thanks to this book I now realize what it takes to achieve and maintain self-discipline in my life. I definitely recommend this book!

Really Learn How to Develop Grit,

If you really want a chance at changing your life, this is the skill you must start with, self discipline. I have read hundreds of self help books and this is by far my favorite. No fluff book on attaining what is promised in the title. The author is one of those "gems" , a true author that knows how to write. Refreshing and effective.

Very helpful toward self improvement

I have all of Martin Meadows books, but this one is my favorite because it distills the most critical elements of success into daily habits, that require self-discipline to maintain. Self-discipline in my daily habits has always been a struggle for me. I like the authors style because you get top quality information in a succinct and powerful way. I love the fact that this book is broken into daily readings. I start each day reading a daily passage from this book. A lot of what's in this book really resonates with me and helps to give me a new or different perspective on forming self-discipline.

Some truth, lots of judgments

Yes its another book about military discipline, processes and how they relate. The difference is all the seal books discuss different points, this book, surprisingly short, is a summary of 7 principles SEALS live their life by and how to apply to our lives. I realized when I read this book that I hated to exercise because I had never found a sport that I enjoy. So I stopped trying to get up early and go running (which I hate but that everyone recommends doing) and started to think of what I had liked to do in the past

A Doable Path to Self-Discipline

This book spoke to me and addressed all my issues in a very direct and easy-to-understand manner. It helped me realize some of the patterns I follow and provided a way to get out when I get stuck. I really liked reading this book and couldn't put it aside before finishing it. It is an easy read, packed with useful and concise information. As I read through pages, I really felt motivated to start doing what I really wanted to do and ended up with a sturdy plan in mind. Some concepts are briefly explained without going much into detail but that's okay for the context of the book and can be further researched from other resources.
