Why you must listen to this book:
The information in the book is just ok. It is extremely brief and is really for people who want to get into wood working using hand tools only. I don't have enough free time for that, so this book wasn't ideal for me, but could be great for others who want to do things the hard way without much instruction.
It was very hard to focus on the information being given, because the narrator was just terrible. I thought for sure it was an artificial computer voice because he pauses in awkward places and mispronounces words like "mortise" and "medullary rays," among others. At one point instead if saying "two by three" he said you should use a "two times three board." If you are really a beginner, this audio book will ensure that you sound like a total idiot to everyone you speak to.
In written form, this book probably has some good info for beginners, especially if you're going to be mostly using hand tools, but as an audio book, with this narrator, I can't recommend it.
