a good book for small prrojects

I was disappointed in this book. I guess my expectations were a bit high. If you are into making wooden toys to sell in the flea market, then this book would be great. Too many small projects and not enough practical everyday projects for my taste. I will be returning it. This book would be great for a school shop, but not for someone interested in making furniture.

complicated

Way too advanced for people just starting out. I thought this book would have easy items to start with and work up to harder items. Even the descriptions and tools necessary were complicated.

greta style

The style of the book and the audio abridged version I felt lacked excitement and gratitude, that one should feel after hearing the message of Peale. This book and audio program has sold millions and I still recommend both as they have key principles that may help you look at your self differently.

A very good resource.

This book goes into almost every possible minutia of many of the common and uncommon aspects of woodworking. Including but not limited to Joints, Tools, and types of wood. Its sort of an "everything you ever wanted to know about woodworking but was afraid to ask" sort of book. Its really a good resource for the beginner

Cant recommend this enough.

This set of audio Book covers the basics of most every aspect of woodworking. Its not a manual for the advanced woodworker, but a great reference for the DIYr/novice. Never used a particular tool before? This book gives you enough information to use said tool with some confidence.

A good reference.

This is a very good reference to have in the shop. It starts with the whole tree and the methods of breaking trees into usuable materials. There are discussions of the different methods of sawing timber to how veneer is sliced. There is a section on man made lumber plywood, particle board, paneling etc. Most of the tools used to create finished wood products are discussed in detail and finally a nice section on carving.
