Not a fan

I just finished listening to three books on parenting; Six-Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children; Wonderful Ways to Love a Child; and ScreamFree Parenting.

I did not agree with the author's premise regarding children, which I took to be that they are individuals that can figure out things on their own. Thus the parents' role is to allow them the freedom to explore with minimal oversight.

However, I may very well be wrong and the author right as to the best way to raise children. However, her arguments are not well founded and appear to boil down to personal experience. While her credentials in child behavior exceed mine, they are still only opinion. What I would have preferred would be to have her arguments based upon peer reviewed research. This would have been a more persuasive approach and perhaps convinced me that her philosophy and approach to parenting is superior to mine. As it stands now, I only find myself at odds with the author and unconvinced to follow her suggestions.

Stunning

Would you consider the audio edition of Wonderful Ways to Love a Child to be better than the print version?

Have not read the print version

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wonderful Ways to Love a Child?

Allowing and encouraging children to be individuals without worrying about how you (parent) will react to who they are becoming.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the author's daugher came back and wanted to share a story that was going to upset her mom and how mom encouraged her to share irrespective of how mom will feel!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

How we were raised plays a big part in how we unconsciously parent our children, therefore its important to be a conscious parent at all times.

Any additional comments?

Stunning book that makes you rethink your parenting!
