Good content. Poor transmission.

Struggled to listen, which was a shame because the content is useful. Narration is distracting.

More info than I ever expected

Book about all things associated with wine

I found the information in the book to be helpful, because I do not know much about wine. I also found the book to be very repetitive – it could've been half as long. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Great infomation!

Would you listen to The Truth About Wine again? Why?

Sure would, so much information I will have to listen to it again to learn as much as I can.

What other book might you compare The Truth About Wine to and why?

I have nothing to compare this to.

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't have a favorite but there were so many interesting tips and tidbits.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

I like to go wine tasting and now I know how to make it more pleasurable and valuable.

Any additional comments?

It was really good after listening for almost an hour. The beginning acknowledgements and such went on way too long I almost quit listening. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Good Information - Needs Better Quality Audio

This was actually a decent book with usable information, but I thought that it was ruined by the audio quality. The book actually does cover a lot of the things a self-identified wine lover would probably want to know, but also sometimes included what I thought was too much information.

Overall, I'm very glad I listened to this book and found the information relevant and valuable, but there are some other things I think I need to talk about...

What was something like the first 45 minutes of the book is thank you notes, acknowledgments, dedications, biographies of the people who contributed, information about the people interviewed, etc. That was a bit much for me and I was starting to get a little bored and wanted to get to the actual information... And though the amount of information was probably adequate for most people, I thought that it was (at times) a little too detailed and long-winded.

As for the audio quality and narration... Where do I start?
The actual narrator wasn't bad. She did a good job for almost the entire book, and the narrator herself would get a 4 from me. However, the audio quality was horrible. The entire book sounded like the narrator was recording in a bathroom or at the bottom of a swimming pool. This really started to get to me after the first few chapters. The information was good enough that I kept listening, but I might not have if I didn't like the book.

I hate to get negative in reviews, but I really have to call it how I see it...

3 stars overall because as I said, the information was actually really good. 2 for performance, but that is mostly the audio quality and not the narrator herself.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.
