Publisher's Summary

This is a book summary of The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan.

Book description:

You want less.

You want fewer distractions and less on your plate. The daily barrage of emails, texts, tweets, messages, and meetings distract you and stress you out. The simultaneous demands of work and family are taking a toll. And what's the cost? Second-rate work, missed deadlines, smaller paychecks, fewer promotions - and lots of stress.

And you want more.

You want more productivity from your work. More income for a better lifestyle. You want more satisfaction from life and more time for yourself, your family, and your friends.

Now you can have both: less and more.

In The One Thing, you'll learn to:

  • Cut through the clutter
  • Achieve better results in less time
  • Build momentum toward your goal
  • Dial down the stress
  • Overcome that overwhelmed feeling
  • Revive your energy
  • Stay on track
  • Master what matters to you

The One Thing delivers extraordinary results in every area of your life - work, personal, family, and spiritual.

One simple truth

Nuggets of truth simplified and read animatedly the way a pomodoro works. One bite at a time, in 25 minutes.

This book made the WSJ Best Seller List? Huh?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The listening experience was fine; the content was B-O-R-I-N-G and regurgitated from many others prior to him. If you have just come of age, like a high school or college grad, this might be relevant for you but it's not anything new under the sun for any consummate business professional.

Would you ever listen to anything by FlashBooks again?

Yes I would. This is my first time listening to a summary of a book.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dean Bokhari’s performances?

He did a good job reading the summary and whomever put the summary together I'm sure took the most important points. I cannot possibly imagine taking this material and creating a book out of it. I got what I needed in 30 minutes vs a 5-1/2 hour book.

Very Motivating!

the book is wonderfully inspiring. this review is about the narrator. he gets the author and does NOT drone away. the key points are good for people who don't have the time to read but can get as much from summarized bullets as reading the book in it's entirety.

This summary version wasn't that impressive.

Wasn't impressed at all. Everything said I had already knew, heard or read somewhere else. It does remind you still about what is important in life and why it should be put upfront, but doesn't really tell you how to do that.

Not worth 5$

Don't buy this is not a book but a short interpretation. The title is misleading especially if you are on a iphone.

A GREAT INTRO

A book bought thinking it to be the main book turned out be a great intro to the real thing.

Good tips

I will re.listen and take notes next the time. Too many nuggets to just listen without jotting down the tips and big ideas.

Not the real book

What disappointed you about The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results, by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan (Book Summary)?

Remove it or rename it properly. It's not the book itself. I have audible credit and I'd rather use it than pay $24 for it. Using the same name confused me and I paid for this one with my monthly credit.
